    Speakon Cables For Less!
Bought a couple of these cables for connecting my bass head to my cab. I've wanted speakon cables for a long time, but didn't feel like spending the money when my 1/4" cables were working fine. Monoprice introduced these and I had to try them.
I'm a little dissapointed with the locking pins. The springs have been bad on one end of both of my cables. Not the same quality as Neutrik ends, but I paid a whole lot less.
Both cables carry the signal just fine, though, so I'm not complaining too much. Would definitely buy more of them again.

PROS: Fraction of the Price of other Speakon Cables
    Cable quality feels solid
    Passes signal well.

CONS: The springs on the locking pin are pretty weak. I ordered two of these cables and both had an issue with at least one end.

Works fine but connectors are cheap.
I needed a few cheap 3 foot cables so I bought these. If I knew - or paid attention - I would have paid extra for a cable with Neutrik connectors. But these are getting the job done as long as I make sure the ends click in when connecting.

    PROS: Cheap!

    Works fine.

CONS: Ends are very cheap and you have to make sure they lock in. They don't immediately click in like real Neutrik plugs.

Speakon connector used with these cables is incompatible with neutrik jacks

First, and foremost, a third-party product that purports to adhere to the specifications of a particular technology must adhere to those specifications, or it is useless. It would appear that the Speakon technology connectors used in these cables may be a little out-of-spec.

These connectors, while nice looking, are hit-or-miss when it comes to properly connecting to a Neutrik NL4MPR chassis-mounted connector. On many of these connectors, the locking mechanism won't click into place. Fortunately, I was able to swap ends, and, eventually, get the cables to work in my setup, so I didn't have to order something different.

When comparing this connector to both the Monoprice connector (601510), and Neutrik's own connector, it appears that there is a varying gap between the locking tab, and the barrel of the connector. There is no gap on either the Monoprice or Neutrik connector... And, I called it a 'varying gap' because, as implied, some of the connectors locked fine, but some of them didn't, and had to be swapped end-for-end, to try the other connector.

An interesting data point for this discussion is that the connectors on these cables always connect properly to the Amphenol product SP-2-MD. On all my DIY loudspeakers, I used the Neutrik NL4MPR connector, and on the other end (at the wall, or junction box), I used the Amphenol SP-2-MD This connector is analogous to Neutrik's NL2MP connector. I don't quite understand that discrepancy.

Anway, I would give these cables a 10, but for the problems that I described. I'm giving it a 5, so that, maybe, this review will be noticed, and Monoprice can get something done about it with their supplier.

    Speakon Cable Did Not Work
I highly recommend Monoprice, but not this Speakon cable. It did not work at all. It did not lock as it is supposed to either. Monoprice refunded my money promptly. I went with genuine Neutrik connections elsewhere. In this case, you get what you pay for. Stick with genuine Neutrik connections. They work. Having said this, Monoprice is a great company and I would buy from them again.

PROS: It arrived very quickly and Monoprice refunded my money rather than making me ship it back.

    CONS: It did not function.

These seem to do the job. They don't look cheap, my connectors didn't have the problem where the internal wires were loose.

    PROS: Well constructed, good connectors

    CONS: None so far

You get what you pay for
Not really impressed with these. They look solid when taking out of the package but both 3 ft cables I bought were defective. Yes I looked at the connections and those were ok, but the plugs did not fit well in the jacks thus any slight movement would cut the signal.

PROS: Nice looking, appear to be quality cable ... but

CONS: Signal from amp to speaker kept kicking out.
