3ft Premier Series XLR Female to 1/4in TRS Male Cable, 16AWG (Gold Plated)

Monoprice’s line of Professional Audio cables brings you high performance cables at rock bottom prices.  Whether you’re connecting broadcast equipment, instruments for your band or your high end entertainment system, Monoprice has the interconnect cables for you.

Balanced audio cables utilize impedance balanced lines that reduce EM and RF noise and extend the effective range of the cable run.  Additionally, unlike standard unbalanced RCA interconnects that utilizes their braid as a signal return, balanced cables have a separate braided shield to provide additional resistance to interference without modulating the interference into the signal. This prevents ground loop issues.

XLR to 1/4" TRS balanced pro audio cables provide high fidelity and eliminate noise in the recording studio and on the stage. Our new Permier Series cables up the ante in terms of construction quality and performance.

I purchased a 3ft Premier Series XLR Female to 1/4inch TRS Male 16AWG Cable (Gold Plated), I have a Micromon MA 400 that says I need a 1/4" Unbalanced/stereo TRS or Unbalanced /mono TS, will this cable work since it's balanced?

BEST ANSWER: You can technically use a mic cable for a stereo unbalanced signal BUT, both channel conductors would be inside the same shield. It MAY give you crosstalk issues between channels. It would be BEST to use a Siamese style cable so each channel has its own shield. As for connectors, it makes no difference what you use. 3 conductor XLRS are used all the time.

    Key to routing your DAW
These are just great for anyone running a digital recording rig. Most interfaces use TRS inputs and a lot of mic pre-amps use XLR outs, so these cables key to routing. Im using these to route some cheap tube pre's & some rack guitar processors into a TRS patchbay back into my recording interface. This allows me to easily route any piece of gear to any channel without crawling around or wonder what cable goes where. These cables along with a good TRS patchbay have majorly de-cluttered my studio, my work flow and the price can't be beat.

    Works Great
The XLR to 1/4 cables worked great. Lesser quality product costs almost 5xs as much at a local electronics shack.

    XLR to 1/4 inch TRS
    The eight cables worked flawlessly.

PROS: Quality was better than expected at the price point.
Retail music providers sell lesser quality at higher prices.

    CONS: None

    Great little cable.
I'm using it to connect my tub mic pre-amp to my patch bay. Works great for this. Good signal, low noise cable.

    Really nice cable
You can disassemble and modify (ground lift?) the cable if you like, they are fully modular and appear to be made using the same Monoprice 1/4 and XLR jacks you can buy separately.

PROS: Sturdy feel, very clean looking. They work. You can disassemble them. Nice thick cable too.

    CONS: none so far

    Very Good Quality
I have been buying my cables from Monoprice for a while. Like the others, this one is excellent in appearance and visible quality. Sturdy cable and connectors. All of the ones I have purchased have worked properly and continue to do so. That includes guitar cords for semi-professional playing, studio equipment connectors, microphone cables, and a printer USB cable. I suspect that these cables come from the same factory that makes the high priced stuff!

    PROS: Appearance, ruggedness, functionality
