6ft Premier Series XLR Male to XLR Female 16AWG Cable (Gold Plated) [Microphone & Interconnect]
Monoprice’s line of Professional Audio cables brings you high performance cables at rock bottom prices. Whether you’re connecting broadcast equipment, instruments for your band or your high end entertainment system, Monoprice has the interconnect cables for you.
Balanced audio cables utilize impedance balanced lines that reduce EM and RF noise and extend the effective range of the cable run. Additionally, unlike standard unbalanced RCA interconnects that utilizes their braid as a signal return, balanced cables have a separate braided shield to provide additional resistance to interference without modulating the interference into the signal. This prevents ground loop issues.
Our XLR male to female cables continue our tradition of bringing the highest quality cables at the best prices. These cables feature thick, heavy gauge wires, gold plated connectors and sturdy connector housings.
- 16AWG Stranded Copper Wire Conduits.
- 97.5% Shielded Balanced Connections
- Gold Plated Connectors
- Metallic Graphite Colored Connector Housings
- Molded Strain Relief Boots.

I've never been one to spend a fortune on cables. I use 12 gauge speaker wire and have since the early 1980's. But I recently purchased an Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 2 power amplifier and an Emotiva XDA-2 Gen 2 DAC to connect to it and it offers no analog inputs. So I purchased a pair of these XLR cables and they sound great. . I seriously doubt my ears are so golden so as to hear any real difference between these inexpensive cables and a much more expensive pair and I'd be willing to wager that my system, although a mix of new and vintage, is probably better than a whole bunch of other systems who's owners get caught up in this cable debate. Do yourself a favor and check these out. They're well built, the connectors are real good and I don't see myself having any issues with them as I rarely am going to need to touch them. Emotiva sells these for just under $64 for the pair. Not to me!
PROS: They feel solid, well built. The cables offer and flexible yet durable outer shell. The connectors are really nice. I had NO problems with these and loved the price.
CONS: None at all.
PROS: Cheap. Thick cable.
CONS: Crackling sound. Do not connect to microphones well.
PROS: Nice connectors.
Feels really expensive.
CONS: Cable feels a little bulky.
PROS: Our organization was recently given twelve face type microphones but they did not have cables. I purchased 15 of the above referenced cables and they were magnificent. We used them in a large variety show last weekend and they performed flawlessly. Top notch product for a fair price. We will shop with Monoprice again.
CONS: There were no cons
PROS: Well built with replaceable parts.
CONS: A bit heavy if used for a hand held mic. Screw could become loose quite easily.
