Connect sound components and other audio equipment with this Premium 1/4" TS Patch Cable from Monoprice!

This unbalanced cable uses 16 AWG stranded, pure copper conductors and employs copper braid shielding with 97.5% coverage to ensure that stray radio frequency and electromagnetic signals do not degrade the audio quality of your performance. Note that this cable is intended for general audio use. For high-end, low-noise performance and recording use we recommend our Cloth Series cables.

These cables exhibited terrible micro-phonics (any pressure or bending while in use resulted in audible noise through the amp). I returned my 1st set (at my shipping expense) as I assumed they were defective and the replacement ones were exactly the same. At this point shipping them again will exceed what I paid so I'll keep them as backup backup cables.

    Sadly, not recommended
I'm sad to report that I ordered a few of these for a gig only to find that all of them were microphonic when plugged in to my instruments. By microphonic, I mean that you could literally just touch any part of the cable while it was plugged in, and you'd hear the sound transmitted through the cable into the amplifier. Even if you don't touch it or move around, the 25ft span of cable causes cracking sounds intermittently that are unacceptable for any style of play or gig. I also found the short interconnect cables (Product ID: 601100) between my guitar foot pedals to demostrate this microphonic capability, although to a lesser extent because they are much shorter. This leads me to believe it as a defect or a quality issue in the cable that they are using.

I wanted so much to see these cables perform as well as they visibly appear, and I'm sad to finally find a Monoprice product that I didn't love for both price and quality, but until they address this quality issue, please stay away from these cables for your instruments or really anything in which you need a quiet quality 1/4" TS cable.

I will be seeking return for this cable hopefully without issue.

PROS: Appears to be a very thick and sturdy cable and connector. I was very excited for the price for what visibly looks like a much better guitar cable than what I'm used to.

CONS: Cable is microphonic and extremely loud when plugged into any instrument. The longer the span of cable, the worse it gets.

Don't buy these for a guitar cable!
I bought these to plug my guitar into my Fender amp. They were fine until I moved themeven 1 inch! They crackle like crazy. The problem is that anyone playing guitar on a stage moves around a lot. Other reviewers complained about the same problem I believe it is called being microphonic. Since I like Monoprice's customer service I returned them in the hopes that I had gotten some duds. The new ones arrived today and they are as horrible as the originals.
Interestingly enough, when I contacted customer service, they seemed blissfully unaware that these cables are totally unsuitable for guitar use.

PROS: Solid. Good as long as they don't move

CONS: Microphonic. Move them even an inch and they crackle like crazy.

    Great quality product
Cable seems to be of high quality material, and end connectors are well built. I would definitely buy again.

    PROS: Good construction.

CONS: Not crazy about the melted plastic insulator in the connectors.

    Good cables, good price
Using these for the mains of a small P.A. system, and they work great. The connectors are nice, they have springy metal strain reliefs (instead of hard molded ones that don't flex enough), and if something should go wrong, the plugs come apart easily for service. I needed these quick, and monoprice came through - got 'em overnight for the same price most people charge for standard shipping - thanks!

PROS: All-metal connectors with metal strain reliefs, gold plated, nice cable, low price

CONS: none that I can find

Great for connecting guitar cabs to amp heads
I connect 16 ohm speakers to 16 ohm low wattage tube amps with this cable. Sounding great so far.

If used for connecting guitar to amp, there will be noise whenever jostled. This is not meant for a connection like that.

    PROS: Price

    CONS: None so far

    Great cable for practice.
I bought the cables for my son as a Christmas present. He loves them!

I am going to be getting many more of these cables here in the near future, worth every penny and more.

PROS: I am currently using 2 of these cables, soon to be 4, to wire up the speakers and monitors of my church's stage system. I love the fact that these cables ARE REPAIRABLE! You can actually take the sleeve and the relief off and resolder the connection if you need to!

CONS: What cons? I got a high quality cable for cheap, are you kidding me?

    SPeaker cables
I use those cables every day for the setup in an exercise class. they are easy to coil and do not become twisted like my previous set.

    PROS: solid construction.
cannot be beat for the price

CONS: heavier than I thought, but that may be a good thing.
