PROS: Cheap as hell. Got it on a sale. Functionally fine. Very usable clipping type in its gain. Plenty of extra dB boost in the volume knob. Sturdy enclosure.
CONS: The tone knob's range is entirely in the "So tinny and shrill it would only be a novelty sound" except for when the tone knob is turned all the way down to its lowest point. Might be an issue where they chose the wrong values for the tone circuit, might be a weird taper/value on the pot. No idea. If I tun the tone all the way down, I can get a sound that's not unpleasant.
Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issue with the tone range. From what you describe it appears you may have received a defective pedal. We do offer a one year warranty on this item. If you would like I can assist you in setting up an RMA for a replacement to see if it will work better for you. Please let me know if you would like to proceed with a replacement and I can get that started for you right away.

-It was dirt cheap at one time
-It works for a tinny, background metal sound that you'll feature in one song, not all of them.
-You won't need a fuzz pedal because this pedal makes very muddy sounds.
-It's now the same price as I paid for the MXR Prime Distortion which has been an absolute beast of a distortion pedal....but it's not even comparable in quality.
-The tone is very muddy -- it's a "general" distortion that muffles individual notes, so songs like Tenacious D's The Metal sound like you're strumming an Em chord instead of playing a riff.
-The tone sounds pretty tinny -- think of the difference between a "Mosquito muffler" and a Harley Davidson.
