Clipping is usable, tone knob is not

Pros: Cheap as hell. Got it on a sale. Functionally fine. Very usable clipping type in its gain. Plenty of extra dB boost in the volume knob. Sturdy enclosure.

Cons: The tone knob's range is entirely in the "So tinny and shrill it would only be a novelty sound" except for when the tone knob is turned all the way down to its lowest point. Might be an issue where they chose the wrong values for the tone circuit, might be a weird taper/value on the pot. No idea. If I tun the tone all the way down, I can get a sound that's not unpleasant.

Ordered, shipped on time. All-metal enclosure that feels solid. The sound is a crunchy distortion that sounds like a Distortion+ circuit with a few different values or small changes chosen along the way. Usable in a pinch, but this Monoprice pedal is not my favorite distortion sound.

Pros: True Bypass

I'm rebuilding my guitar setup, and I'm doing it on little to no budget. It's giving me the amount of distortion that I need. Working fine. This beats the hell out of buying a $50 pedal and feeling screwed by a salesman.

I will see how far this takes me and update the review based on experience.
