    Chorus Pedal

Add chorus to your pedal board with this Chorus Pedal from Monoprice!

This pedal produces a chorus effect, which makes your single guitar sound like multiple guitars playing in unison. You can control both the Depth and Speed of the chorus effect, as well as the output volume. The pedal features true bypass, so it won't alter your tone when not actively in use.

The casing is metal for long term durability. It is powered using either a 9VDC power adapter with a negative tip/center, such as our 9V Power Supply for Guitar Pedals (PID 611690) or a 9V alkaline battery (not included).

I'm liking it so far. I've never had a pedal for the Chorus effect. I was always relying on my amp. This gives me Depth and Speed. It seems to have enough range and level, considering Chorus tends to show up a lot more in a recording.

I'll update the review based on experience.

Pros: Sounds good between the guitar and amp
    Ultra low price

Cons: Can be noisy in certain signal chains configurations

I bought this because it was on sale and I was curious about the sound quality. This is an outstanding chorus pedal. It makes a great lush chorus sound with nice chime-y overtones (this is starting to sound like a wine review). I like the fact that there are very few knobs and no downloadable app to access a hundred other parameters (like the TC Electronics pedals). The volume control gives you another gain stage which is useful for matching levels between pedals and amps. The pedal sounds best when used between the guitar and the amp. The noise is low enough for a recording. The pedal gets noisy when used in an effects loop. You can hear the pulsing oscillations of the chorus effect. It's too noisy for recording and distracting in a live application. The pedal played well with an overdrive, specifically the Monoprice Tube Overdrive 611602, feeding the input. You can easily get that Vernon Reid/Boston-esque sound (I'm probably dating myself with these references). The pedal got noisy if you put the pedal after the overdrive. I tested the pedal using a stock 90's Gibson Les Paul DC and a stock Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp. The amp was set to Clean (well, as clean as a Hot Rod Deluxe can get) with the following signal chain: guitar overdrive pedal chorus pedal. Input 1 provided a lighter tone while Input 2 got a little heavier. Both Inputs had acceptable noise levels. The pedal didn't sound good when using the dirty channel in the amp. Noise became an issue again. I don't like using the term,"for the money..." because it implies that sound quality is directly affected by cost, so I'll say this instead: this is great sounding, easy-to-use chorus pedal, period. It's worth the risk at this price. Rots o'ruck.

    Pros: great price

    Cons: a bit noisy.

This pedal added a bit of noise to my chain of pedals that is not there when the pedal is not connected. It has a decent chorus effect and is fine for goofing around, but it is not pro gear. For the price no one should expect it to perform like professional gear. I do like the volume knob.

    Pros: - Cool casing.
    - Small.
    - Cheap.

Cons: - Monoprice does not have demos videos.
    - The (provided) instructions are not useful.
    - The depth of the effect is not as much as other pedals.

I tested this pedal with a friend using a CryBaby and a Blues Overdrive (Monoprice) and we were pleased to the sound we got. Nevertheless, the depth of the effect is not as much as in other chorus pedals. Although, we don't use chorus in our sound commonly, so we are not that knowledgeable about it.

Looks great but tough to review when it didn't work...

    Pros: casing
    looks
    controls
    ease of use

    Cons: didn't work

I had high hopes for this pedal, and for all the others pedals and guitar gear that Monoprice offers. I'm a regular customer, so when i saw a bunch of guitar items i was pretty stoked. I'm currently building up my new pedal board and had purchased some other "budget" pedals that weren't really to my liking. I saw this and thought i would try it out.

The looks are great and the casing is nice. The controls are easy to use and understand, and i like that it actually has a volume knob. My other pedals didn't, and this was a feature i later learned i needed.

The problem was, it didn't work! I couldn't get any effect out of it what-so-ever. I had this pedal going through my effects loop on the back of my amp (along with my other mod pedals). With everything cranked up, i was able to get a barely noticeable grainy, distorted sound. Very disappointed. I ended up returning it to Monoprice for a refund.

This is a great looking pedal and i hope i just got a dud. I hope someone else tries it and that it ends up being as awesome as i hoped it would be.
