Large Monitors with Problems
Our business ordered 5 of these monitors, along with 5 Mini-display+USB to Dual Link DVI adapters. The set-up was fine but we have had regular issues with the monitors when computers are turned on or return from being asleep. The monitors will reset back to being Horizontal, other times will be an odd resolution, or display 3 or 4 copies of the screen across the monitor. The only way to fix this is seemingly unplugging and plugging back in, usually more than once and on some occasions requiring a reboot of the computer they are plugged into. Very annoying problem to have as it does not always happen, and there is no easy way to re-create it for troubleshooting. In all regret the purchase for this reason and should have purchased a monitor with a direct HDMI input as the Dual Link DVI, and therefor necessary adapter, are a real pain.
PROS: Large Screen, ability to set up vertically, low price
CONS: Issues with Connection, when computer comes back from Sleep the monitor will display incorrectly
I really wanted to love this monitor, but every time I restart it will be a black screen until I recycle power. Not just reseating the DVI cable or hitting the off button, but unplugging it from the wall is required. Every time. Now, OS X knows there's a screen connected but thinks it's a VGA monitor and doesn't show me the proper resolution options until I cycle power on the monitor.
I must say that this was supposed to be my new main monitor in a dual monitor setup, so I have a monitor that works fine and doesn't exhibit any of these problems which I used to troubleshoot. If I have the MP monitor hooked up solo, then add the 2nd display, it goes black there too... I know just enough about EDID info to get in trouble but I'm assuming the monitor doesn't pass this info along unless power is recycled.
Is this an isolated incident or does anyone else have this issue?
I was looking into this further and unfortunately it appears to be a compatibility issue between the Mac and the monitor. This monitor does not have a built-in scaler. So when the Mac's BIOS screen comes up at a lower resolution that is not supported by the monitor, the Mac will detect it as a non-signal range monitor and will stop attempting to output to it. This is not an issue with monitors that have multiple inputs (such as your LG monitors which have VGA in addition to the DVI) as they have built-in scalers.
We can try only putting the Mac into sleep mode instead of shutting down or restarting to see if the issue persists. If going this route, I recommend going into the display preferences on your Mac, turning off "best for display", and using a scaled resolution of 2560x1600.
Or if you would prefer to try a multi-input monitor such as 10734 ( http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=113&cp_id=11307&cs_id=1130703&p_id=10734&seq=1&format=2&rep=gab ) or PID 11996 ( http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=113&cp_id=11307&cs_id=1130703&p_id=11996&seq=1&format=2&rep=gab ), I can help setup a return RMA on this monitor. We unfortunately are unable to process exchanges for different items.
I do truly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I will be passing this info along to our product team to look into further. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

Great Screen overall
Got this while on sale for my birthday (yay me!)
Great packaging, everything worked out the box, colors needed adjusting
My only real complaint is that the anti glare coating is a bit too aggressively added, you can see some graininess on white or light colored backgrounds
PROS: Size, Price, resolution
CONS: The anti glare coating is a bit too aggressive
This is a fantastic monitor for the price (I was fortunate to get it on sale at an even better price than Monoprice is now selling). I was initially a bit stymied in that I could only get it to display at 1280 x 800. After chatting with tech support, I realized I wasn't driving it with a DUAL LINK DVI adapter. After installing that, (make sure your CABLE is also Dual Link DVI) my monitor came to life.
The only downside is that there's no HDMI port, and the only picture controls are contrast and brightness — no RGB levels, no screen geometry, etc. Just make sure if you're running a Mac (not sure about the PC side) you run an advanced calibration, and your monitor will be good to go!
PROS: Lots of screen real estate. Good contrast and black levels. Superb Value
CONS: Limited picture controls. Dual-link DVI input only.
