    HDBaseT Extender Kit

Monoprice is a proud member of the HDBaseT Alliance

Extend your HDMI® audio/video signal to distances up to 328 feet using a single Cat6 cable with this HDBaseT™ Extender from Monoprice!

This Extender uses a new technology, which allows for a full bandwidth 10.2Gbps data throughput over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. The full 10.2Gbps bandwidth means that it supports all High Speed HDMI functions, including all HDMI 3D video modes, the extended 4K cinema resolution, 32-bit Deep Color, and high-definition compressed lossless audio, such as DTS-HD Master Audio™ and Dolby TrueHD™.

The extender features a built-in, bidirectional infrared (IR) signal extender, which allows you to remotely control devices at the source or destination end of the connection. For example, normal operation would allow control of the source blu-ray player from the remote TV location.

Additionally, the extender is capable of transmitting a full-duplex 100Mbps local area network connection alongside the HDMI and IR signals. Each extender unit has two RJ45 LAN jacks. As long as one of the four jacks is connected to the network, the other three will propagate the network connection. This allows you to wire another room for HDMI video, IR remote control repeating, and full internet access, using only a single Cat6 cable!

Note: While this extender will function using unshielded Cat5e cabling, we recommend the use of shielded Cat6 cabling for greater reliability over longer distances. Also note that any cable run through the walls must be rated for in-wall installations.

    Features:

    • Extends HDMI signals up to 328 feet (100 meters) using a single Cat6 cable
    • Extends 100Base-TX network connectivity along with the HDMI video
    • Can be daisy chained up to six units deep
    • Built-in bidirectional IR repeater
    • Supports all High Speed HDMI functions, including 3D video

Note: Monoprice strongly recommends using 22AWG, 24AWG, or active HDMI cables with Redmere technology to achieve the best results and to ensure minimum signal loss over longer distances.

This HDBaseT device is fully compatible with these other HDBaseT extender products from Monoprice:

Very Good but CANT be daisy chained
Overall very good device but i would have gone with the less expensive older Tx/Rx kit since it seems "daisy chaining" is not possible.

PROS: Does everything it needs to do in terms of HDMI transmission, so far all my devices connect flawlessly.

CONS: I dont see a way to daisy chain these devices, and it was the reason why i spent more to buy *this* unit vs. the older hdbaset Tx/Rx kit. I contacted support before purchase and was told that with 1 transmitter you could connect up to 6 receivers (i.e. daisy chain). I do not see how this is possible and this "6 units deep daisy chain" statement might be a misprint. Id love to be wrong here though.

    Surprised at quality
I'm really surprised at the picture quality on this system. I'm running about 150' of cat 5e from my wiring closet to the outdoor TV. In a couple of places the cable runs parallel to powerline wire, so it was a bit tricky to get working. After I went back and made a point of ensuring I had a foot or two of clearance between the 5e and 120v wires, the connection led on the receiver went solid and the picture quality hasn't missed a beat since. So basically, if you are using unshielded twisted pair, make sure that you don't run it parallel and within a foot or two of power wiring.

I'll be buying more for sure.

    PROS: Excellent video/sound quality.

Rock-solid connection (once it is made.)

CONS: Channel-surfing a bit slow using built-in IR (but still works perfectly.)

This product worked as advertised right out of the box. Have been using for 2 weeks without any problems. After pricing other Extender Kits, this was a super value.

    PROS: Easy to install

    Compact Design

    Great Value

CONS: Wish extender and receiver boxes had mounting capability

Description not Correct, Basic Manual Lacking Info
The description is misleading/incorrect. It says "Can be daisy chained up to six units deep" and I verified with Chat Support that this meant the HDMI signal can be daisy chained to other receivers. Purchased this set plus an extra receiver. Support was incorrect, and the HDMI signal cannot be daisy chained only the 100BaseT data signal. Returned product.

    PROS: Easy to set up

CONS: "Can be daisy chained up to six units deep" only refers to the data portion and not the HDMI portion. Manual very Basic. Lights on front of units with no idea what they mean.

They work for a while then the reciever module fails
I bought 3 sets or these and while they work they are great. After a while the receiver module fails. I currently only have 1 working receiver module left from the 3 sets. All the extender transmitter modules still work. Monoprice should stop selling these as they will fail and if your lucky they will fail prior to 1 year. Who wants a solution that won't work for years when spending this much money. I paid 200 or more per set back when I purchased 3 sets.

    Cutting Edge Technology
It feels great having this cutting edge technology in my home. I needed a solution for a long cable run that was longer than the HDMI specification. I didn't want to do wireless due to performance and interference concerns. This solution works very well and there is no lag in the IR transmission which was a concern. The quality is great. I used CAT6A cable to ensure optimum performance.

    PROS: -High quality

    -Long cable distances possible

    -Additional Ethernet support

    -Included IR ability

CONS: -Runs hot but no resulting problem

Unit worked great once the correct splitter was found. The system is an iMac computer going through the extender, then to a splitter to get the signal to 2 projectors. Whenever the splitter was installed, there was a green hue to the projection. What eventually worked was going with a different brand of splitter. So don't use a Monoprice splitter in conjunction with this extender. We tried 2 different Monoprice units (both worked in a different application at our site).

PROS: Compact design, nice hard metal case.

CONS: Didn't work with a Monoprice splitter patched in after it.

Brilliant! plugged in using 20m cat6 cable and it just worked. IR return perfect. I'm in Australia with a satellite provider called Foxtel. I now have it in the bedroom as well.

PROS: small, low power and easy to connect

CONS: Not a negative as such but a suggested improvement would be to be able to switch off with my Logitech Harmony 900 or Harmony ultimate with a RF receiver in both

Got this to work! with VGA converter and 4x2 HDMI matrix
Finally got this put togather and it works. I was able to get this HDBaseT extender to setup between the stage to the control desk using the 150' cat6 cable with a VGA to HDMI convertor (PID 4629). Over at the control desk I connect the receiver to a HDMI 4 x 2 Matrix (PID 6415) to redistribute laptop image backout to 2 pairs of HDBaseT extender on 100' cat6 cable to the 2 projectors. It works out of the box, with audio from the VGA to HDMI convertor too! (but you have to pass video signal to the convertor, you cannot do audio only)

PROS: Plug and Play, working on 150' straight run CAT6 cable

CONS: The receiver runs hot, and the power adapter takes up 2 outlet space on a power strip

Excellent product. It did better than expected.

Excellent pricing. Other manufacturers product cost more than double Monoprice pricing.

Excellent speed. They shipped it out the same day that I ordered it.
