Questions and Answers
Used on a PTAE 40000 Panasonic
I had to bring down a few times to get the cords to run through properly because I didn't get them right the first time. That is a user error not a issue with this product.
PROS: Able to use the common mod (extensions) to hang Epson projector in media room. Sturdy, and allows to adjustment to get picture square on screen.
CONS: Not sure why Monoprice doesn't just extend the pieces to allow for more projectors to work with this piece.
-Very poor documentation. It's just a single sheet of paper with a partially exploded schematic diagram of the mount
-Poor x-axis (shifting the image left to right) rotation functionality (tilt and y-axis are fine, though)
-It holds the weight, but the projector and image will move with even slight touches to the projector or tugs on the power/hdmi cables.
-Telescoping down-rod is only held by a single screw and friction plate. There is no true "locking" mechanism. I'm having to put my trust in a friction plate.
-The ceiling mount is held by 4 screws. Only two of them can reach a ceiling stud, so the other two had to go into the drywall with the included drywall anchors. I should have used something stronger for those two, like lag bolts. I might still change them out.
PROS: It looks great and easy to adjust.
CONS: It didn't fit our projector.
I used this mount to suspend my Mitsubishi HC-3800 projector, and I can't think of anything I would change. VERY adjustable in all axes...Soundly built...
MAY not work with a larger footprint projector, but for the new, smaller projectors it can't be beat!
However, once it is installed, it hangs the PJ just fine and is plenty sturdy, no creep or sag noticed. If a person can center and pre-drill holes with accuracy, this mount can save them a good deal of money.
Running a Panasonic 3000u on it.
PROS: Cost and size.
CONS: Hard to adjust when large projector on it. Spider legs are to small to accommodate larger projectors.
PROS: Nice box. square tubing which is stronger.
CONS: Didn't match up to my Dell 4610 wireless projector. We tried every which way to get it to match up, but with no luck. But we did have another projector that we can use it on in another area.
