XL Precision Gaming Surface - Black
Get the jump on the competition with this XL Precision Gaming Surface from Monoprice!
If you're serious about your gaming, then it is time to get serious about your gaming accessories. When it comes to your games, you don't want to rely on the spotty optical tracking you get from a bare desk surface or a prettily painted mouse pad. You need a reliable mouse surface that will trace precisely each and every time you give even the slightest movement to your mouse.
This extra large gaming pad features a black microfiber surface, which provides the highest level of precision tracking available, especially when using a laser optical mouse. The surface measures a generous 17 1/2" wide by 13 3/4" high.
Given that, the surface has a smooth, fast glide faster than a Roccat Taito or QCK Heavy. I like it. Two different mice with two different sensors (Roccat KPM with the 3310 and Logitech G303 with the 3366) both have no trouble tracking on it. It's only 3 mm thick, but the rubber backing does a good job of keeping it from moving around. The very small monoprice logo is nice for those of us who dislike gaudy branding.
This could be a good, inexpensive large mousepad but for the fact that monoprice ruins it by folding it in half. I wouldn't order this until monoprice figures out, like how literally everyone else does it, how to roll a mousepad up.
PROS: High quality product. Works great.
PROS: Surface is excellent for gaming mice (currently using a Razer Mamba 2012 Edition) and it works better on this mouse mat than it does on the official Razer one.
This thing is HUGE! Depending on your setup, you may want a smaller one but this is perfect for what I needed.
Less than 10 dollars for something like this is insane... I payed 30 dollars for a smaller and lower quality "Pro" mouse mat from Razer and was not satisfied. I bought a total 3 of these, one for myself, my mom and brother and it was only 10 dollars more due to shipping. Worth it.
It cleans! You read that right, this thing just grabs dust off the bottom of anything you put on it. I may sound a bit sarcastic but the dust that gathered on my mouse through the last mouse mat I had was just not good, especially for gaming performance. As soon as I put my mouse on this thing it cleaned all the dust from my mouse away. The dust on the mat was easy to clean off with just a wipe of a soft cloth.
CONS: The packaging, or lack thereof, was nothing but a bit of plastic covering it all around. Then again, why do you need packaging for something so simple?
The edges are a bit rough and can annoy the bottom of my arm as I rest it on my table, but that may also be dependent on the way I have things set up on my desk.
Monoprice...you really need to teach your shipping dept how to either tube these items or how to roll them up and place in a box. Folding them in half and then half again only makes it difficult for the user to get to work out of the box. The wrinkles take a few days to settle down. But it is all good to go now...please just take note and memo to shipping dept. to get it right.
CONS: Ummm, NONE.
PROS: this thing is REALLY LARGE
Good mouse pad, small friction, smooth.
CONS: crease in the center because shipping folded it :(
Has a smell to it, which I hope will go away after some use.
PROS: - Huge mousepad.
- Must be one of the Best Bang Per Buck mouse pads out there.
CONS: Not for the price.
PROS: Smooth surface with just enough padding for comfort. Stays put, doesn't slip or move accidentally while using.
PROS: Huge surface, thin, smooth top, gripping bottom.
CONS: Came in an even bigger box. The surface wasn't rolled up, but that meant the box was a little excessive to me. Being black, it makes dust and such very visible.
