2-Way Active Wall Mount Speakers (Pair) - 25W - Black

Active loudspeakers eliminate the need for a separate power amp providing easier installation options than when using traditional passive speakers. They also have the advantage of having an amp that is custom tuned to the speakers they are driving.

This Monoprice powered stereo loudspeaker is just such a speaker set. It consists of an active loudspeaker with a custom amp built in for one channel and a passive slave loudspeaker for the other, to complete the stereo pair. It is an ideal choice for AV applications such as meeting rooms, multi-media usage, small presentations, and even as a powered speaker for your computer or portable music player. The active loudspeaker package comes with volume and tone controls and built-in a stereo Class D 2x 30 watt amplifiers. They are also magnetically shielded to prevent interference with other devices.

Pretty darn good for the money
I bought these for my son's garage so that he could play his iPod, music on his phone or listen to Pandora. These are extremely cost effective as you really don't need anything else to crank out your tunes. The sound quality is better than expected from a two way ported speaker of its size. The mounts that come with are sturdy enough and they appear to hold in place with the tightening knobs fairly well. I have had similar mounts on some other outdoor speakers that had to be tightened like crazy and would still droop to the next few notches. These seem better. Since these will be mounted higher up than reachable, there will be no easy way to power the unit on or off, adjust volume or get to the treble/bass knobs, I should be able to set the unit at the max volume I will ever want, set the tone best suited for most things and then just plug or unplug the power amp from the wall AC socket. I would hope that this will not harm the power amp. I will run a 6-10 ft 1/8th inch mini cable for the sources and it should be very easy to enjoy. These get pretty loud with no distortion and the bass is probably as good as you can get without getting a sub woofer. Mids and highs are also good.

PROS: These speakers are very good for the money. Easy to set up and look good too.

CONS: The supplied speaker wire for the companion speaker is shorter than expected. Simple fix by buying the length of speaker cable you need.

    Hail Monoprice
    Nothing to complain....

    PROS: Very satisfied
These are perfect for ordinary people like me
I was charged with bringing sound into a church cry room and needed to do this on a wireless set up. I was generally clueless about types of speakers and learned quite a bit about "monitors" "PA", active (powered) and passive systems. Audiophile reviews of speakers are hugely confusing - and while they may be great for considering speakers for recording studio use or the absolutely most discriminating listener, these reviews were useless to me (and the speakers that audiophiles like are VERY expensive). I simply needed a very good speaker to bring the sound of a mass to a sort of sound proof room. I used and Air-Net professional wireless transmitter system and plugged the transmitter into the main digital mixer for the church microphone system and set the receivers near the active speaker for this set. As a side - I put the whole thing on a digital timer from Lowe's" so the cry room "comes on" only during mass times. The speakers are easy to mount and are working clearly and flawlessly. These may not be the best in the world but I am betting they are the best ones for you.

PROS: Fantastic sound, tremendous price, comes with mounting hardware, looks great, easy to set up.

CONS: A bit hard to adjust controls that are on the back - especially if the mounting is in a corner. (But for me this is a small issue - once it is set - it is where I generally intend to leave it.

    Awesome
    Five stars!

PROS: These speakers are amazing for the price. We re-ordered 15 of them to outfit the classrooms in my school. Definitely worth it. The volume and range of sounds fills the room and more.

    CONS: None

    Big and loud
I bought these to use in a Christmas Float once a year so was reluctant to spend a ton of money. I hook them directly to an MP3 player and inverter connected to a lawn mower battery. They are bigger than the Radio Shack speakers I've been using but about twice as loud. Perfect for my needs.

PROS: Loud without distortion. Good price. Many input options.

    CONS: Bigger than expected.

    Another great Monoprice product
    5/5

PROS: These are a good sounding speaker with many input options and sturdy mounting bracket. A few people mentioned that they did not like phoenix style connector to the second speaker but being an installer I think they are great and pro quality. The low impedance balanced input is a great feature for professional installs and using the parallel button allows a mono signal (to the bottom balanced input) to go to both speakers.

CONS: I would have liked more detailed info with the speakers but Monoprice support will take care of any questions. Yes the supplied speaker wire for the second speaker is short 3ft but nice to have for testing. These speakers do not have any UL listing or equivalent safety rating so would not pass an electrical inspection even though they are well made.

    Amazing!
I purchased these speakers with the 8" 60-W subwoofer and could not be happier.

The wall speakers are extremely clear and handle the mid/high sounds with ease.
In conjunction with the sub the sound quality is excellent. Best purchase from Monoprice yet!

    PROS: Sound clarity
    wall mount
    frequency response
    price

CONS: the bass in these speakers by themselves are not the best, but considering the price and size its not bad!

    5/5
Speakers work great, with good sound. Nice replacement or substitution for smart board speakers which cost much more. Great bang for your buck.

    PROS: Price
    Sound

CONS: Connecting speaker wire between 2 speakers too short and they are a little bigger than expected.

Great powered speakers for the price
I bought a set of these to use in my garage in conjunction with an Apple Airport Express. I remotely play content from my iPhone or my Mac to the Airport Express over AirPlay, and can control the volume that way. It works very well for me, and sounds great.

I do wish the controls were not on the back - I like to switch the speakers off when I'm not actively using them, and that requires me to fumble around the back looking for the power switch. But overall, I really like these speakers.

    PROS: Price, build quality, sound

    CONS: Location of controls

    Active Speaker Performance
I bought this because of the frequency description: 20 to 20,000 Hz, and linearity +/– 2dB. Unfortunatey, this is not enough or accurate to satisfy my expectation.

This speaker set could be made very high performance with a little re-design. I have now put them in the original box and stored it away. Very disappointing.

PROS: Has control for volume, bass and treble. Separate on/off switch.

CONS: Speaker wires provided are too thin. Bass becomes muffled when the signal is strong. In my view, this could be due to saturation of output transformer at low frequency. If there are no transformer for this design, then it could be due to d.c. imbalance in the output circuit.
