Can all channels be on at same time ?
BEST ANSWER: Yes. This is a simple passive splitter that keeps impedence consistent as loads (speakers) are added (selected).

The currently have 3 pairs of speakers I will be controlling. 2 of those pairs are labeled as 8 ohm speakers and one of those pairs is labeled 6 ohm. Eventually I will be adding 3 more pairs of 8 ohm speakers. Will I be risking my amplifier by using those 6 ohm speakers if they are connected to and controlled by this selector?
BEST ANSWER: As long as you engaged the SINGLE PAIR DIRECT button. This will maintain an 8Ω load to your amp.

Are the grounds just common? or can it be used with older amps that had internal transformer with individual speaker isolation. I find the common ground systems causes interference currents for the true isolated speaker outputs.
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in this speaker selector. The outputs on this unit are not isolated. They share common ground.

Nothing in the instructions regarding how to turn the impedance matching protection on and off. I assume is the button labeled for one set of loud speakers. In what position is the the impedance matching protection on and in what position is it off?
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your interest in this speaker selector. When the Single Pair Select button is out the impedance matching circuit is active. When you push the SPS button all outputs are still active but impedance matching is deactivated. Please use caution when using this mode. If you use more than 2 pairs of 8Ω speaker your total load will be below 4Ω and you can potentially do damage to your amplifier. Calculate your your total ohm load against minimum impedance of your amp.

Good Value. Works great!
This piece is a great value for dollars unit. I will use it again.
PROS: I'm using it as a distribution block as each set of speakers has a Monoprice slider volume control (8245). All the zones stay on all the time. It keeps the load to the amp correct and that's what I wanted. Works great as does almost everything from Monoprice!
CONS: Speaker connections are the kind you tighten with a very small screwdriver that I never seam to have. Also wire over about 14 gauge would be hard to fit in the speaker connections.

Speaker Selector
Overall, I like the way the unit is constructed and designed to run single or multiple speakers with an impedence protection option.
PROS: Folks, this is a very well made speaker selector. The manufacture used quality steel and not plastic for the case.
CONS: The binding posts on the rear of the unit are the spring-hinge type and not post. This prevents the use of banana plugs from being used on the wire tips.

Speaker Selector
This is an excellent product for the money. Installed with zone2 from amp to speakers in 6 different rooms in the basement. In each room, installed a volume control (PID 8242) and a speaker (PID 4100). Set-up allows me to pipe sound in any room either individually or as many as I like. Sound is great! Love the ability to control the volume in each room and the speakers are so much better than I expected for the price paid.
Would recommend each of the three products mention above and definitely would buy again if had to do over!!!!
PROS: Great quality product for the money.
In robust casing.
CONS: Would have like to use banana plugs on the back.

Running 3 pairs of speakers
I am running this with one of the zones on my Onkyo TX-8255, passing through to 3 pairs of Monoprice 8" in ceiling speakers (4104) and it all works great.
Why did I buy the six instead of the 4four channel? It's what was available at the time, and it works great for me!
PROS: Price

Does what it's supposed to
I bought one for my house. At the price points, i opted for the 6 over the 4 speaker selector. I only needed 4 but for a couple bucks more, i figured a couple open spots for future expansion made the most sense.
My sister called and told me the unit we had put in her house 12 years ago (monster branded) wasn't working right. I ordered a second one of the 6 speaker selector for her. I was that pleased with mine, that without hesitation bought another for my sister. I've had mine for a year or so without issue. We will see the long term life.

No issues
The speaker selector worked without any issues. Also surprised that it requires no power to work.
When hooking up multiple speakers to the selector, do note that the polarity goes +|-|-|+ instead of alternating -|+|-|+ as found on receivers.

Great Product ,Great Price!
I actually had a twelve channel selector installed that gave me problems from the start. It did not match impedance as advertised and would overheat my amp. After a severe storm it went out. Instead of buying another expensive 12 zone selector I thought I'd try this one because I wasn't using all the zones anyway. I connected it and right away it didn't sound right. After troubleshooting I discovered that there was a water leak and one of my volume controllers was full of water! I thought I had fried this selector, but to my surprise after repairing the leak and replacing the controller I was up and running and haven't had a problem since!
PROS: A lot less expensive than other units of similar quality.
CONS: None
