6-Channel Speaker Selector
Spread your sounds around your home or business with this Monoprice 6-Channel Speaker Selector!
This speaker selector allows you to connect up to six stereo speaker zones. Each zone can be individually toggled on or off with the front panel switch. Built-in impedance-matching circuitry ensures that the overall impedance level to the amplifier does not drop below 5 Ohms, no matter how many speaker zones are selected or how many speakers are in each zone.
The impedance-matching protection circuitry can be disabled using a front-panel button, but this should only be done if there is another protection circuit employed or the system is carefully designed to avoid amplifier damage. The unit can handle up to 70 watts per channel with the protection circuitry enabled and up to 140 watts per channel with the protection circuit disabled.

Questions and Answers
PROS: I'm using it as a distribution block as each set of speakers has a Monoprice slider volume control (8245). All the zones stay on all the time. It keeps the load to the amp correct and that's what I wanted. Works great as does almost everything from Monoprice!
CONS: Speaker connections are the kind you tighten with a very small screwdriver that I never seam to have. Also wire over about 14 gauge would be hard to fit in the speaker connections.
PROS: Folks, this is a very well made speaker selector. The manufacture used quality steel and not plastic for the case.
CONS: The binding posts on the rear of the unit are the spring-hinge type and not post. This prevents the use of banana plugs from being used on the wire tips.
Would recommend each of the three products mention above and definitely would buy again if had to do over!!!!
PROS: Great quality product for the money.
In robust casing.
CONS: Would have like to use banana plugs on the back.
Why did I buy the six instead of the 4four channel? It's what was available at the time, and it works great for me!
PROS: Easy setup. Works great.
CONS: None yet.
PROS: Sleek design, well built, and very affordable.
My sister called and told me the unit we had put in her house 12 years ago (monster branded) wasn't working right. I ordered a second one of the 6 speaker selector for her. I was that pleased with mine, that without hesitation bought another for my sister. I've had mine for a year or so without issue. We will see the long term life.
When hooking up multiple speakers to the selector, do note that the polarity goes +|-|-|+ instead of alternating -|+|-|+ as found on receivers.

PROS: A lot less expensive than other units of similar quality.
