    Works with Motorola QIP7100-2
Works perfect for IR remote extension through walls / entertainment units. I have confirmed that this unit functions 100% with the Motorola QIP7100-2, which is the Verizon FiOS HD (non-dvr) set top box shipping as of November 2012, as well as the QIP7100-1 HD set top box FiOS customers were issued through 2012.

PROS: Great IR extender in a small package, and awesome price point in comparison with a lot of the competition.

CONS: It would be nice if a 1/2" piece of double sided tape was included, being that (and this is just my assumption) 90% of all installations will be to the bottom or side of a flat-panel TV.

Works great with my motorola cable receiver.
It should come with a small piece of double sided tape to keep it from moving around.

    PROS: works great

CONS: forces you to hunt for tape.

    DIY simple cheap repeater
Combined with an 8059 emitter to make a cheap, self-contained 50-foot repeater system for a NightOwl security dvr. Cut up and splice in an old usb cable to get 5v from the dvr (Tip=5v, Ring=signal, Sleeve=gnd).

PROS: 100% reliable so far from 15ft

    CONS: none

    Cisco compatable
works with new cisco contour equipment like the hdc 4742, these units work fantastic.

range is excellent, could not find anything to work, now I have 20 units for my clients.

compatible to cisco 1004648 part . or cisco IRE5712 model

PROS: Works with Cisco Contour DVR and contour client

CONS: sticky tape a bit hard to work with

I would recommend this product for others

PROS: Exactly what I was looking for. It works great from 6-8 ft as the distance I have for my tv

Fast shipping and very reasonable pricing

CONS: small antenna is really tough to fit next to tv. I had to tape it over the tv to make it stand still

    Does not work
Despite having the 3.5mm plug, and being an IR receiver, this does not work as a receiver with a standard 38kHz IR repeater device. I tried this on multiple IR repeaters from various brands, and it worked with none of them.

    PROS: None, does not function.

    Works with Time Warner/Cisco DTA
I bought two of these to go with Cisco digital tuning adapters supplied by Time Warner. They work great. Both control dtas attached to LED TVs, one Samsung, one Visio. Great value, prompt delivery.

    PROS: good value

    well made

CONS: two sided mounting tape not effective

Very happy with this IR extender
It was surprisingly difficult to find an IR extender that didn't require an in-line power source. I had purchased one from a Monoprice competitor only to find that it didn't work with a HDMI switch I am using in a office conference room environment. This IR extender saved the day and works, as advertised, without any +12V in-line power required.

Works great with my TWC boxes
Work as advertised with TWC Arris DCX-3600-m and 3200-m boxes.

PROS: Easy to install. Literally Plug and Play

CONS: No adhesive stickers with these. Had to use my own tape to stick them to the television.

    Works with Eastlink ARRIS MP2150A/NR
Works with the "IR In" port on the back of my ARRIS MP2150A/NR

    PROS: It works

    CONS: None

Will this work with a Sony Model # XBR-43X830C TV? There is an IR jack on the side, but the owner's manual is less than clear about whether I need to set up a serial control system along with the IR extender. Thanks for your help.

BEST ANSWER: I purchased this extender cable because the original receiver broke on my Dual Band IR Repeater. It doesn't seem to support the dual band required for most cable boxes, so it didn't work for me. I ended up buying a wireless extender instead.
