Is there any way to center the tv fully retracted, if the studs are off center, outside of stud "remodel"?
    A shopper on Feb 2, 2017
Will this work with a 75" TV? I know it's rated for up to 63" but don't understand why a 75" set couldn't be mounted if it is within the weight limits.
    A shopper on Nov 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: To determine compatibility with a TV mount to your TV, please determine the VESA mounting pattern on the back of your TV. It is the 4 screw hole square formation on the back and it is usually listed on the TV specs or you can find out by measuring it yourself(measured in millimeters). Our TV mounts range from 50x50mm to 1000x700 and up so please check the TV mount specs for compatibility as well. I hope this helps, thank you!
How deep does the wall have to be to use this mount?
    A shopper on Feb 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hello, thank you for your inquiry. For this product, the depth of the mounting wall plate will be 3.85 inches.
Can I use a full motion wall mount for a 49" curved Samsung tv ?
    A shopper on Jan 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: To determine compatibility with a TV mount to your TV, please determine the VESA mounting pattern on the back of your TV. It is the 4 screw hole square formation on the back and it is usually listed on the TV specs or you can find out by measuring it yourself(measured in millimeters). As long as the TV can be held by the mount and the VESA of the TV fits 200x200 or 320x300 to 800x500. It being a curved TV you may have to use the provided plastic spacers. Is the 25" extension measured from inside the recess or from the wall surface out? I want to be able to swing a 55" tv 90 degrees perpendicular to the wall, or as close to 90 degrees as possible.

will this work in a 24"recessed hole?
    A shopper on Jan 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's designed for 14.5" which is 16" on center
How does the tilt work? Is there a 'lock' for the tilt function?... or can the TV move freely and hold its position without fixing the tilt?
    A shopper on Dec 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes the tilt locks. TV moves freely either locked or not
pdf manual says the vertical span of the recess box is 20.6" and to cut out drywall that much. . I just received mine and it is 21 15/16". Seems an error in the spec sheet. Anyone notice that?

    Poor QA
The two tabs that mount the box to the studs weren't drilled for lag bolts, so I had to drill them out myself. Most people won't have the tools required to drill through steel plate. The tabs required larger bolts, but only one large bolt was provided. Also, one of the slots for connecting the articulating arm to the box wasn't cut out, so it required about twenty minutes of filing to get the slot cut. Other than that, the product is nice, but it was unusable in its shipped form. It may be a new product, but the QA team should have caught these issues.

    Outstanding! Fairly easy to install
Holding a 60" LG Plasma with no problems, even fully extended. The installation instructions were clear and straight forward the only problem I ran into was the instructions stated to not use a hammer-screwdriver...no way I could have gotten the screws into the 50-year old 2x4 studs without using a one, but also with a socket head. As another noted, does take the right tools and a bit of measuring.

A prior reviewer noted the issue with putting an outlet inside and they were correct. Based on their review here (thanks!), I ordered a black recessed outlet and put it in a deep blue box mounted on the bottom and solves the problem of the plug interfering with the extension arms.

Since I use the unit extended frequently, I ended up painting the places on the wood & drywall that are left exposed with a black paint (pint of black @ local hardware store $10). Looks better now. The unit comes with cable guides...nice but needed to supplement with some black velcro (black electrical tape would have worked too).

Lastly, the unit really is flush against the wall, minus 1" for the mounting brackets on the TV. I found that the HDMI cables stuck out more than that so used some 90 degree bends.

    Highly recommeded!

PROS: Strong, holds the weight with no problem. Fairly easy to install.

CONS: No grounding screw stud on unit.

I have installed a number of flat screens including several using recess mounts. I am building a new home and purchased one of the Monoprice mounts to check out the quality as the price seemed a little low. After receiving the first one, I ordered 4 more which should indicate my assessment. They are very well built with an longer extension than I anticipated. My wife want the TV's to be able to go flat against the wall but I want to have easy access to the wiring. These satisfy both requirements.

    Best mount ever
Unlike other reviewers, I found all parts to be included and for the mount to be reasonably well thought out. The huge hole you have to cut in the wall actually makes it ultra-easy to run cables to the attic/crawlspace, because you have plenty of room to work. Most solid Monoprice mount I've ever used, mounting it to the inside of the studs gives it more stability, IMHO.

PROS: Gets TV flush to the wall

CONS: Can't install an outlet in the included j-box knockouts, because once you put an outlet in there and install the whole contraption - there isn't enough room to plug anything in.

If you ever remove it... it is a BIG hole to patch.

Great Mount - Needs an extra feature...
Easy install, mounts flush to my wall, but extends over 2 feet and tilts and pans, etc... great mount!

Needs a rotation feature. A few similar mounts out there have a separate rotation adapter that allows the tv to rotate 90 degrees to a portrait view. This would be great for those of us that like to play Shmup video games that can utilize a rotated 90 degree portrait view (TATE mode for those who know what I'm talking about). Monoprice, please produce a rotation adapter PLEASE!!! There's people out there who want one.

Otherwise this is a fantastic mount, that just misses a single feature that is often overlooked by manufacturers.

    PROS: Easy install

    Great features for the price

Mounts flush to my wall when not extended

    CONS: Needs a rotation feature.

Cable management could be a little better, but zip ties fixed that, no biggie.

Didn't include enough lag bolts, again not a big deal, they are 5 cents from a hardware store but it'd be nice if they sent enough...

This product is great, very sturdy and built well. Instructions are a little lacking and could be improved upon. The outlet can work however you need to install a recessed outlet and low profile power cord, and it the power cord needs to be plugged in before you install the swing arm.

I think they did the best they could with what they had, I am not really sure how they could improve it to eliminate these issues.

PROS: Gets your TV right up against the wall

    CONS: Not simple to install

    Rock solid but terribly built
If you can drill through steel and are willing to buy your own hardware, this is a strong, attractive wall mount.

PROS: Really solid, fully articulating, looks great.

CONS: Improperly built. There were supposed to be two holes in the mounting tabs that didn't exist. Fortunately I have a friend with a machine shop who was able to drill through the steel. Further, the mounting bolts were pieces of junk that stripped almost immediately. I had to buy better ones.

    Sturdy
Materials: For the most part, this is a very well made unit. However, three of the eight lag bolts broke during installation. My suggestion is to drill slightly larger pilot holes, or purchase eight lag bolts from a local hardware store and discard the set in the kit.

Instructions: there are several problems with the instructions. First, the unit requires a 14.5 inch space *between* the studs, not simply 16 inch on-center studs. The difference is that in some older homes the studs are spaced 16 inch on-center, however the studs are literally 2 inches wide (a modern "2x4" is really a "1.5x3.5"). This results in a 14 inch opening, with 16 inch on-center studs. Thankfully I was able to squeeze the unit into the 14 inch space.

Next, the instructions call for determining the horizontal center and measuring 10.3 inches above and 20.6 below. The wording is confusing: is that a 30.9 inch vertical opening, or a 20.6 inch vertical opening? Answer: neither. The actual opening is more like 21.6.

And don't even get me started on the bracket / adapter "instructions". My suggestion here is to _carefully_ examine the pictures and use the printed material as a guide.

Bracket Design: For my installation, the right-hand side mounted arm works out well. When I swivel the monitor all the way to the right/flush against the arm the box is hidden from view and the monitor appears to float. For what it is worth, the monitor can also swivel flat to the left, but there's a much greater chance of seeing the box in this configuration. It seems like a slight modification of the bracket "key" from an "L" to a "T" shape would permit either a left or right install.

Tips: 1. Purchase a set of black adhesive wire guides to help with cable management in the box. 2. The rectangular punch-outs at the top and bottom both accommodate a standard 1-gang plastic old work box. I'm not sure what the circular punch-outs are for maybe a furniture hole cover?

PROS: Very sturdy construction. Metal is thick enough that it does not flex. Black metal surfaces have a very nice finish. Everything fits together very well. Screen is easy to level.

CONS: Lag bolts break easily. Instructions are not clear. The design of the base bracket limits installation so that the articulating arm can only be installed on the right-hand side of the box.

Works as promised. Holding my 60 inch samsung. Takes precise measuring and a number of tools to install. ie. stud finder, level, drywall saw, etc.

PROS: Pretty easy to install if you are a little handy. Feels solid. Works like promised.

CONS: A few of the screws heads broke off when screwing into wall. Used longer drill bit than recommended after the second one, still very tight.

install was straightforward, however, the lag bolts it came with were terrible. I broke 3 of them. save yourself some trouble and get some from the local hardware store.

It is recessed into the wall, but note that it is not truly flush due to the mounting bracket. the bracket sticks out about 1" from the wall. I wanted my 50" led closer to the wall, so I ended up buying a different bracket. ended up buying a vesa 400x400 adapter to a 200x200 plate. now I am happy.

    PROS: easy install.

    sturdy

    CONS: lag bolts were terrible.

    recessed but not really "flush"
