DVD Bracket (Max 22Lbs, VESA 400x380) - Black

This DVD Mount Bracket is designed to attach to the back of your TV in its VESA mount holes. The unit has a smoked glass shelf that can be placed above or below the TV to hold a DVD player, or any other similarly sized device.

The bracket can fit on almost any TV with a maximum VESA mount size of 400x380. The maximum weight capacity of the bracket is 10 kg (22 lbs), so if it is setup with the shelf under the TV, the total weight of the TV and whatever is put on the shelf cannot exceed the maximum weight capacity. The shelf can also be mounted above the display, in which case it can support the entire 22 lb weight.

Will this work on a 50" Samsung TV?

BEST ANSWER: Hello, in regards to your inquiry, as long as the TV fits within the VESA mounting pattern of the bracket, then it should work fine with it. I hope this helps, thank you!

You better have a small TV, description is wrong
For some reason Monoprice is the only company selling an above/below screen shelf. I've been searching for months since this has been out of stock, and NOBODY else has a similar product. How else are you supposed to put a center channel speaker, Kinect sensor, or other "middle of the screen" type accessory where a wall shelf isn't appropriate? Well, this was the solution so I waited. After opening the box (which is confusingly marked "Wall Mount") I came to the horrible realization that this will not fit "almost any TV" as claimed. It was too small for my 40" screen, way too small for the 46". It would only comfortably clear the top of a 32". These brackets need to be much longer, especially with cheap large televisions becoming the norm.

PROS: Very sturdy brackets and attractive glass shelf.

CONS: Took months to restock. Only fits my smallest (32") televisions, brackets aren't long enough for a 40".

    Great for xbox
I just mounted the TV on the wall... shelf below for the xbox, and mounted the kinect sensor below that on the wall with the wall-mount. Everything off the floor, works like a champ!

PROS: Perfect for the mount under the TV to put the xbox on

    Inexpensive and well made
I used this backed to mount the Cable box on top of a free standing 41in TV. IT was easy to assemble, but I had to go to the hardware store to find some bolts to attach the mount to my TV. The brackets are a little short so I was only able to bolt it onto the top 2 holes of the VESA mount on my TV, but it is firm enough. As it is a free standing TV and there is space behind it, I would have liked a way to adjust the shelf further back, so the the cable box does not stick out so much in front of the TV. I have seen the same unit advertised at a much higher price elsewhere, so another great value Monoprice product!

PROS: Well made. Easy to assemble and mount on TV.

CONS: Did not come with VESA mounting screws. Brackets a little short for 42in+ TV.

The intended install isn't appropriate if you are intending to use with a tilt & swivel mount like monoprice PID 8516. I expected this possibility when i ordered, but this could be made clearer.

I solved this by doing a slightly non-standard install. I installed to the wall behind the tv by mounting the vertical brackets through two pieces of wood, and then through sheetrock and into wall anchors. The shelf holds a blu-ray player below the tv. It looks quite good.

PROS: Simple install, inexpensive, and attractive.

CONS: Only intended to work by mounting to VESA mounting holes on tv, so doesn't work well with tilt &swivel wall-mounts.

    More versatile than you think
The shelf plate is designed for the width of 400 x 380 VESA mounting points, which makes it 18" wide. It's a bit too big for many modern devices when only one thing is on the shelfif you have two devices though, it's a bit small (unless you stack them).

One thing that is not clear in the description is that the support brackets only attach to the glass by pinching it at the back edge (that is that there are no mounting holes in the glass). Therefore, the bracket width CAN BE adjusted for width, for instance if you had smaller VESA mount points such as 200 x 200 (which is what I used it on). The bracket width (at 200mm) just happened to be the width of my blu-ray player, so I considered not using the plate of glass at all and just setting the player directly on the brackets.

Ignore every comment about this item not including fasteners, because it comes with all the fasteners you need. It attaches at the VESA mounting points, so you just use the screws included with your TV's wall mount to attach this shelf. The brackets have a 90 degree lengthwise bend in them for strength which bend toward the wall so attaching this to the wall would be difficult. If wall attachment is your intended use, you would need to use spacers and you would need to be sure that the brackets wouldn't interfere with the TV wall mount where it attaches to the wall.

PROS: Very slim lines, perfect fit, easy installation. ADJUSTABLE FOR WIDTH

    CONS: A little bit big.

this is a great mount for putting the dvd player underneath the wall mounted tv, now that i have had this for a few months, i just noticed that the two plastic pieces that hold the glass tray to the arms have both craked and are broken

PROS: mounts perfectly with my monoprice tv wall mount, easy to install

CONS: the two plastic pieces that hold the glass in place are weak, and mine broke

The mounts do have adjustable widths, which I wasn't 100% sure if that was the case from the specifications. I have mine mounted to the tv in a 200mm x 200mm vesa pattern and it works just great. Not perfect but a good product especially for the money.

    PROS: Inexpensive, Looks Good

CONS: One of the brackets was a slightly different angle than the other, and I had to bend it to get it close. Can't really tell anymore and not a deal breaker for $9.
    July 21, 2011
You pay for what you get
The fact is, if something is inexpensive, the first thing that is sacrificed to keep prices down is quality control. The brackets that hold the shelf actually sat at two different angles when attached. The shelf did not sit flat until I bent the bracket with a pair of pliers.

The instructions are vague and seemed to show the rear mounting brackets attaching to both top and bottom VESA holes. The problem is, on my 42" Vizio that would have made it impossible to attach the glass shelf, much less put a box on it. Recommended TV sizes aren't specified anywhere in the description or the specs. So the shelf is mounted using only the bottom holes.

I'm comfortable with it, and for under $20 (after shipping) I am fine with having to tinker to make it work. You aren't going to find anything at that price in a store. But the quality isn't great. Expect a little frustration.

PROS: Inexpensive, Looks nice, does the job, matches the finish of other Monoprice wall mounts

CONS: Does not fit larger TVs without some tinkering, poor quality control, beware of shipping costs as it is a little heavy.

    Worked great and inexpensive
This bracket / shelf was extremely inexpensive compared to other options I found. Very easy to install and worked great for a wall mounted 40" LCD TV on a swing arm with a cable box. I have mine mounted below the TV although it can be mounted above as well. Allows me to have a "floating shelf" and helps to decrease the clutter of wires/cables that were previously sitting on a mantel. I do have the TV tilted forward (maybe 10-15 degrees) so the shelf is also tilted but the cable box it is holding hasn't had any issues with sliding forward. Bracket has been installed for 2 months now with no issues.

    PROS: Cost
    Simplicity

CONS: None I can think of currently.
