Bluetooth® Wireless Stereo Headset - Black

Why put up with an uncomfortable ear-bud style bluetooth headset? Get stereo sound and ultimate comfort from this A2DP Bluetooth® Headset from Monoprice!

This bluetooth headset features high-quality stereo sound for use as an A2DP audio headset. The softly padded earpieces are held in place with a "behind the neck" style band, which is very flexible, yet holds in place without pinching your head or ears. A microphone hole in the back of the right earpiece picks up your voice, allowing you to use this as a hands-free device, as well as a stereo headset, making it perfect for video gaming with PCs or consoles, such as the PlayStation 3 or for making phone calls.

The headset conforms to the Bluetooth 2.1 standard, which allows pairing without the use of passkeys or other codes. The power on/off button is on the bottom of the right earpiece, while the volume + and - buttons are on the top edge. The left earpiece features music player controls: a play/stop button on the bottom of the earpiece and forward/backward buttons on the top edge.

The headeset holds a generous charge, allowing 300 hours of standby time and up to 15 hours of "talk" time. The battery can be fully recharged in about 3 hours. The bluetooth range is rated at 10 meters (about 30 feet), but it can often maintain a quality connection to as much as twice that distance, through several walls. A 37" charging cable, with a proprietary connector on the headset and a USB A male connector on the other end, is included, allowing the battery to be charged from any USB power source.

This headset complies with RoHS standards.

    Pros: Comfortable

    Cons: On the smallish side.

I opened the headphones yesterday (10/1) and the earphones are a little small, but I have a bigger issue. When I put my phone in my front left pocket, the earphone sound is very choppy. If I move my phone to my front right pocket, the sound is better. The problem is I am a lefty, but it should not matter as there is only an 18" difference.

    Pros: no wires
    decent enough sound

Cons: durabilty of the newer ones
    my older ones still going

I have had my set for years and have absolutely loved them. the sound is a good enough quality and plenty loud. i loved them so much that I bought a set for my girlfriend for Christmas. They worked well for a little bit, but then the earpads popped off and would not ever stay on. the battery wouldn't stay charged for longer than an hour after being on the charger overnight. I still love mine after 4+ years, but maybe something happened with the quality between purchases.

    Lousy Headphones

    Pros: None

    Cons: Feeble
    Hard to pair
    No visible charge level indicator

The first ones arrived broken and it was difficult to get them replaced quickly, which i needed. The seond set arrived intact, but they are very 'feeble', difficlut to pair, and, once paired, it takes forever for them to be recognized.

Pros: Pros. They are bluetooth ((shrugs))? Ok to be honest, if you only listen to books on tape or some other form of spoken word these are probably just fine.

Cons: Sound quality like Koss, Craig, Emerson, Insignia....can you help me think of another off brand set? Oh and the proprietary connector is not going to cut it.

Argh. I was hoping for another win after my HiFi DJ, Lightweight DJ and HiFi Bluetooth headsets. Is HiFi the secret word for Monoprice sound quality? The icing on the cake is that the presentation is 8/10 quality, feels pretty solid, well weighted. But I cant emphasize enough about the sound quality. Can I get a refund?

    Pros: Plenty of control buttons
    Syncs well

    Cons: Mediocre speaker
    Horrible microphone
    Pieces fall off headband
    Proprietary charger

Microphone sounds like it's inside a cement mixer. Not exaggerating, every recording I get from it is full of grit. I wish I'd paid more attention to review warnings, rather than the score. Proprietary charger is baffling, as is the dollar-store quality headband, with pieces of plastic that easily fall out and a central gap where the wiring's visible. The control layout, charge time, and ear padding feel higher-quality, but the sound quality is nothing to write home about, somehow being tinny and having too much bass at the same time.
