    Premium Bluetooth® Hi-Fi Over-the-Ear Headphones - White

So you want a pair of high fidelity headphones, with the convenience of wireless Bluetooth® connectivity, but don't feel like dropping three bills on them? Fortunately you don't have to spend a lot of money to get high quality. A case in point is this pair of Premium Bluetooth Hi-Fi Over-the-Ear Headphones from Monoprice!

These headphones use a single 50mm woofer and three 13mm tweeters in each earpiece to deliver superb sound quality across the entire musical spectrum. They feature a frequency response range of 20Hz to 20KHz and a 120dB sensitivity, so you will hear every note with clarity and as much volume as you can handle.

The Bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP profiles are supported for music, allowing for wireless transmission of the audio signal as well as remote operation of the source device using the controls on the headset. The headphones have a built-in microphone and support the Bluetooth HFP and HSP profiles, so you can use them to answer and place calls from your smartphone. The Bluetooth module has a reception range of about 30-60 feet in clear air.

As amazing and convenient as Bluetooth connectivity is, you still have to have a phone or music player with you or within Bluetooth range. However, with these Monoprice Headphones, you don't even need a phone or music player. Just plug a micro SD card into the card slot in the right earpiece and listen to your favorite music directly off the card. The headphones support micro SD cards up to 32GB capacity and can play mp3 and wma files. When connected to a PC or Mac® through the USB interface you can see the micro SD card like any other drive on your system, allowing you to copy or delete files without the need for a separate card reader.

The headphones have a built-in Lithum-polymer battery with capacity for up to 20 hours of playback/talk time and a whopping 325 hours of standby time. The battery takes about 3 hours for a full charge and is charged using the included micro USB cable. Included in the package is also a 3.5mm AUX cable to allow the headphones to be used in wired mode.

Note: The Box and manual for this item state that there are two additional cables included for a total of four cables. This is a misprint and is not the case. The only cables included are pictured, and mentioned above. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Note that the manual incorrectly states that this supports microSD cards up to 64GB. The actual limit is 32GB. Additionally, the manual states that the microSD card should be formatted with exFAT. In fact, it should be formatted to FAT32. We apologize for this error and will get it corrected as soon as possible.

    Good but

Pros: Strong bass easily controlled with equalizer. Fit comfortably over the ear even with glasses (for me) for use up to 4 hrs at a time. Work well for 30-40 ft from source. Quality of sound for me was good but I have limited range. All functions work except the micro card.

Cons: Bluetooth was difficult to set up and control. With computer, needed to reboot application (iTunes) and/or the computer before Bluetooth pairs up after leaving the application (breaking the Bluetooth connection) and then returning. Could not get micro card to play.

This was my first Bluetooth device and gave me trouble setting up and using the phones. The start, quit, internal vs external device pairing was difficult for me. The pulse sequences frequently required multiple tries to activate the correct mode. When they were working, the sound was good to great with more bass available than in any other phones I've used. The micro card mode will not workperhaps because the exFAT format in the instructions should read FAT32?

Headphones are GREAT when they work

    Pros: Very good bass sound
    Good sound insolation
good size and fit (very comfortable)
can be both bluetooth and aux
good battery life (about 18 hours for me on a fully charge)

    Cons: see review

bluetooth becomes very very very choppy after 1 minute into any song or anything (i tried on 2 different laptops and 1 android phone, 1 iphone, and 1 ipad) same results. *my other bluetooth headphones from backtrack beats work great on bluetooth in the same type of setup.

Works great plugged into the headphone aux for about 30 minutes, then the sound disappears, and i have to hold the center button for about 10 seconds for it to turn off, then turn back on, and switch to the green mode for aux for it to work for another 30 minutes.

I would've given this pair of headphones at least an 9 for the price and sound if it stayed on and wasn't so choppy

    Hello,

Thank you for your review and truly sorry to hear about the issues experienced with PID 10246. If I may ask, can we try ensuring that the headphones are not paired with any other devices (such as the iPod) when trying to pair with the laptop? What about making sure there are no other devices paired with the laptop at that time? Also, are there any updates available for the laptop's Bluetooth? Has this been an issue since you first received the headphones? Please let me know your results so we can look into this issue further. Thank you!

    HI Gabby,

After a bunch of fiddling with drivers on my laptop I got it to work but it was not a straight forward process. The troubles were no reflection on the product, it was 100% my laptop.

    Everything is great now....they get a 9/10 now !!

    thanks for checking

    OK sound, Great Value

    Pros: Price, features

    Cons: Audio quality. Confort

Firstly, if you like your music loud and very bass heavy (a la Hip Hop), you might like the sound of these headphones. If you want accurate sound, these are not for you.
VOLUME: These unit will go very lound when using in bluetooth and SD Card mode. Volume is still good, but less if using direct wired inputs (like from your ipod). AUDIO QUALITY: VERY bass heavy. When used when an iPad, I set the EQ to bass reducer, and its still too bass heavy. The clarity and spacial quality just are not there on these headphones. BTW I am not an audiophile with Golden Ears. Despite all this, the audio quality is OK. For listening to movies, podcasts, gaming, you will probably be quite happy for the price.
COMFORT: Average: These are over-the-ears, not on-the-ears. If your ears are on the larger side of average you may find them uncomfortable after on hour or two. As with any over-the-ear style, if you wear glasses, you will find them uncomfortable after about 20 minutes.
FEATURES: GREAT. Bluetooth conncection was reliable, if a little slow. Coverage was good between these and my iPad up to about 100', but then can vary a lot for many technical reasons. My house is 3200 square feet and two stories. I get good reception anywhere in my house with my iPad left on the kitchen table. CONTROLS: Via bluetooth, you can control volume, next, and previous. PHONE: You can use these as a hands free device, but I have no done so, so will not comment. MICRO SD CARD: You can plug in a micro SD card up to 46GB directly into hte heaphones and play back a whole lot of your own MP3s.
APPEARANCE: OK. These appear to be very well made. Fit and finish is excellent. They partially fold in on themselfs to fit in a carry bag. They do look pretty big on your head compared to other premium headphones (you know the expensive ones I'm talking about , brand B).
OVERALL: So-So sound quality, Great value.
