Bluetooth Party Speaker
Be the Master of Ceremonies and the Disk Jockey at your next party, BBQ, camping trip, or family outing using this Bluetooth® Party Speaker from Monoprice!
This portable speaker system is designed to serve as both a music source and a PA system. It features an 8" woofer and 1/2" dome tweeter with a frequency response of 50 Hz ~ 20 kHz (±3dB). It is powered by a built in amplifier that can produce up to 50 watts.
The speaker system is powered using either an AC power connection or a built-in rechargeable lead-acid type powersports battery. When under battery power the amplifier can produce up to 18 watts.
There are two primary methods of connecting to a music source:
- Bluetooth - you can stream music from your smartphone or tablet to the speaker system using a wireless Bluetooth connection
- Wired - you can connect a line level input into the 3.5mm TRS jack or into the two RCA jacks
Additionally, the system sports two 1/4" microphone jacks, so up to two people can take the stage to MC or sing along with the music. The system features three individual volume controls for the various inputs:
- MIC VOLUME - controls the volume level of the two microphone inputs
- AUX VOLUME - controls the volume level of the line-level and Bluetooth inputs
Additionally, a single Master volume knob controls the final amplifier output level. All input channels are simultaneously active and are mixed into the final output.
The speaker comes with a remote control, which can be used to control the volume levels.
Note: The remote control that comes with the speaker system has two buttons labeled CH+ and CH-. Pressing either of these buttons will only change volume.

PROS: As with everything I buy from Monoprice, I'm very happy with my purchase. It does everything I want in a portable music speaker. The Mic inputs are a nice addition. The price was right & the Norco Overnight Delivery can't be beat! Started using it right out of the box - no need to charge the battery. 1st use was at a Memorial Day party and it played all day with plenty of power in reserve.
CONS: Just a few suggestions for future models. Do something about the bad hum when no player hooked into inputs. Upgrade that paper cone speaker to a polymer design. Upgrade the mic jacks to industry standard XLR jacks so that longer mic cords could be used. The last thing would be able to interconnect with other units for bigger events.
PROS: The price was amazing and the device performance is adequate for what it is. Nice touch on the luggage handle to roll the device. BT range excellent. I bought this to be run poolside, but on further inspection I don't think its ready.
CONS: This is a human factors nightmare. The volume to control BT is the aux, which is in a different location than the BT controls. Only 1 of the 2 Mic inputs are balanced. NO visual on the panel to tell you that. There is lots of amplifier noise on no input (caused by decision to decouple aux from main). Once the BT signal comes in, better. USB seems to have lots of noise, regardless. The biggest con is this is a paper woofer. As most know water (outside) and paper don't go well. This should really be replaced w/ a polymer or the like woofer. Pairing the bluetooth on restart requires you to push the button (not automatic). The gloss plastic protecting the parameter should be matte. The knobs are too deep (breakage). It is going to take a beating.
PROS: Easy to pair with android and iPhone portable usage
CONS: Weak battery life Heavy unit
We use this party speaker almost every weekend. Makes doing yard work much more enjoyable! I connect my iPhone 6 plus via Bluetooth and we jam to Spotify! The party speaker will last all day and has plenty of volume. It also sounds pretty good. The unit has (2) Mic inputs, RCA inputs, USB and SD card in addition to the Bluetooth. Plugging in a mic makes this an instant portable PA system or karaoke machine. You can independently adjust the input source and mic level. The included mic in my system didn't work, but this was little concern as I had another one available. I didn't take the time to contact Monoprice support to try to get another mic. There are two mic jacks, so if you have little ones or want to do duets, you'll want to grab another mic.For about $20, I don't think you can go wrong with the Behringer XM8500. Just don't forget an XLR to 1/4" cable.
For the price with the features and everything that's included, I've been thoroughly pleased. Overall the unit is very well built, sounds good and has excellent battery life. Only real con I can think of is the lack of a storage location for the mic(s) / remote / charging cable. I considered the other party speakers out there, but I'm glad I went with this one....only wish I would have bought two of them!
PROS: Plays all day on one charge, tons of inputs, great sound, fantastic value, no power brick
CONS: Included mic didn't work, only pair one BT device at a time (not unusual), no storage for mic/remote
PROS: Bluetooth is quick and easy. Battery life is amazing, I played it for 5 hours straight and all three battery power indicator lights on the side were still lit up. I love this speaker, it was a great buy. Love that it came with a microphone and remote control.
CONS: So far no cons.
PROS: Really nice well built speaker with microphone and remote control. Sound quality is very good at any level.
PROS: Decent price, fantastic quality. This thing is exactly as advertised. Immediately out of the box and I was listening to music and the kids were singing along. All quality construction, easy to understand or set-up. Heavy unit.
CONS: Nothing really. It does lose some sound quality (distortion) at max volume level, but not a deal breaker.
PROS: This is an excellent product, it has a great sound, easy to control and love Bluetooth. This speaker sounds great outside, other speakers I had tried got muffled outdoors, but this unit has plenty of power considering you can run it on its own power. I would highly recommend this product to anybody.
I like this speaker pretty well. It's great for simple portable audio. Not great with microphones at higher volumes, but if you don't expect too much from it, it'll be fine. I really love that it has a mount built into it for mounting onto a speaker stand. I wish it had an audio output so I could easily daisy chain two of these, because they'd be nice and simple to put two or three of them on stands to cover a small venue with battery-powered speakers for an event.
If you don't expect TOO much out of these, they'll be great good for small to medium-sized gatherings, and exceptionally portable. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a nice, simple, portable loudspeaker with a bit of extra functionality and good volume.
PROS: Battery-powered. Multiple inputs. Good volume. Speaker stand mount is a nice perk.
CONS: Distortion at high volumes using the mic. Wish it had an output so I could easily chain multiple speakers.
PROS: This unit is very loud, clear and portable. There are many ways to connect your audio devices to it. The battery seems to last forever. It's very easy to operate. You get complete volume control of all your music devices and microphones.
CONS: There are NO cons with this unit.
I'm quite happy with the unit. We use it mainly for speech and not music.
