Form Fitting Hi-Fi Gaming Noise Isolating Earbuds Headphones
Hear your games with crystal clarity when you use these Form Fitting Hi-Fi Gaming Noise Isolating Earphones from Monoprice!
These earphones excelled in the listening tests, providing excellent low-end punch and clear sustains, so explosions and the distant rumble of artillery sound just like you are there. They generate good punch in the mid and high frequency ranges and are crystal clear at all frequencies. They are well-suited not only for gaming but also for listening to all kinds of music, from classical to heavy metal, and everything in between.
Three different sized ear buds ensure that these 'phones will always have the right fit.
Note: For best results these earphones should be broken in by playing pink noise through them for about 24 hours. The difference in sound quality before and after the pink noise break-in period can be quite dramatic.
|Sensitivity||95±3dB at 1K Hz|
|Max Input Power||5mW|
Overall decent set of headphones... I still recommend the 8320 better for quality sound.
1) Highs (7.0) Highs are better than the 8320 - They are clean but not crisp or crystal clear.
2) Mids (7.5) Mids are clear which is good for gaming Probably the best quality of these headphones.
3) Lows (7.0) Lows are decent and Louder than the 8320 (so if you want a "boomy" headphone this is good for explosions (since its called a gaming headphone) However music it sounds like you are listening to a Equalized sound with the lows turned up. I would say it picks up the low end frequencies from 80hz - 30hz decently.
Monoprice Headphone Leaderboard:
PROS: 1) Price
3) Solid Build
CONS: 1) Average.... for a higher cost headphone
2) Crackling Sound while putting it in your ear... (Some in ear headphones do this in my experience some do not... This pair does... Can be annoying)
I purchased my first set in the first half of 2013, and they went strong until close to the end of 2014 when one of the earbuds stopped working entirely. Honestly, for the price, I was totally fine with it lasting up until then, so I decided to get another pair.
I got my second pair right around Christmas '14, and just this morning when I went to put them in my ear, one of the earbuds just came apart. It appears that some sort of glue had degraded or something? I'm not sure. I do my best to prevent all possible wear on my electronics, and these earbuds basically don't move from my work computer 95% of the time. From my perception, the only possible cause of the malfunction is shoddy manufacturing.
TLDR: These earbuds are fantastic while they work, but you'll need to accept the possibility that they will malfunction within a few months of buying them. That will prevent me from buying them again in the future, most likely, but maybe you'll be luckier than I was!
PROS: - Great performance for the price
- Nice aesthetic
CONS: - Major durability issues
I actually broke these headphones in using a continuous pink noise signal at 1000 Hz, and I broke them in for 30 hours, rather than the recommended 24 hours. (No special reason, just forgot to unplug. 24 hours is plenty of time)
The 300 to 800 Hz range is highly accentuated, giving an overall warm tone to music. However, higher ranges, 850+ are still clear and crisp. Low tones 80 to 300 Hz create a solid backbone, but are not overtly overpowering. However, these are not "Flat" headphones. For the professional audio technician, I would recommend the over-the-ear style DJ headphones.
Metal bushings and a soft outer coating for the wires, give these headphones a higher-quality feel. I have not reviewed the internals, but I would imagine from the sound that they are decent. My only concern is that the bushing at the Y-Split will eventually case a wire break given daily use and abuse. However, I imagine that with proper care this won't be an issue.
Quality feel and somewhat durable with a rich and robust sound. As with most Monoprice products, you simply can't beat the price.
PROS: Solid metal construction and an incredibly deep-robust sound.
CONS: Metal bushing at the Y-cable split to ear phones and soft outer casing will eventually cause cable breaks if not properly maintained.
PROS: They perform well and less than $15
CONS: None so far.
PROS: solid metal construction
CONS: would have been nice to have the wire braided cloth instead of rubber
PROS: Nice sound, isolates sound well. Comfortable
CONS: Broke/fell apart easy. I wish that the wires were braided so that they wouldn't tangle as easily.
great for podcasts
CONS: Terrible music quality
PROS: sounds great and makes my vita games sound awsome!
PROS: Almost everything
CONS: I would prefer the wire to angle down as it came away from the ear. Petty issue.
