Premium 3D Printer Filament ABS 1.75MM 1kg/spool, Bright Orange

Get outstanding 3D printing results when you use 1.75mm ABS 3D Printer Filament from Monoprice!

ABS is one of the most commonly used filament types in 3D printing. It has a high tensile strength and good overall toughness. It has a low density and is softer than PLA, which means lower weight and lower cost when printing large models. Hardness is such that no white dot appears when bending.

This 1 Kg spool features a thickness of 1.75mm ±0.10mm, with a roundness variation of only 0.05mm. It has a nominal processing temperature of 230° C (446°F). Thickness and roundness factors are laser measured at the factory to ensure accuracy over the entire length of the filament.

The negatives of using ABS is that it can give off a white smoke with a concentrated odor. It is best to ensure that the printing room is well ventilated when using ABS.

Additionally, it has a high moisture absorption rate. Depending on the overall humidity level of the printing environment, an opened spool can absorb enough moisture after a couple of days that high temperature printing could cause bubbles or pocks in the extrusion. It is therefore recommended to not open a spool until you are ready to print and to store any unused portion with silica gel and/or an active dehumidifier to reduce the amount of moisture it can absorb.

    Better filament now.
I bought a couple of spools of this filament long ago and left a negative review above. I did finally get the older stuff to work, but it was not very pretty.

The new spools I just received are a marked improvement in my UP! printer. The color is slightly more muted than the early batch, but it prints so much better. Shinier appearance, much fewer blobs, and generally better looking parts. Feeds great, and so far, many a trouble-free print. And at the price, I feel it can't be beat. Whatever change the manufacturer made, it was for the positive and I hope they keep it up.

Seems like a strong material. Fed well through a Makerbot 3D with no issues.

Out of several filament types that I've tested, this has been the best material for the printer.

The rafts were easily broken after the print, and the item stayed in tact.

Would buy this product again and again!

    Very Good
I just purchased the Maker Select Plus 3D Printer, was a little tricky learning what settings to set the extruder and bed. After doing that had good results. Printing temp was 200 and bed temp 70.

    Prints well
This seems to print well on a Afinia H Series printer.

Some of the most brittle ABS I've ever come across. At their price, you could use it for rapid testing, but I would not use it for a quality print.

    PROS: Cheap, nice colors

    CONS: Extremely brittle

    Looks nice, but watch out...
The orange filament looks really nice on the spool, so I couldn't wait to try it out to make some parts I needed, on my UP! printer. Started out great, and half way through stopped printing.

Jammed my nozzle up tight. With all but one clog I have had on this machine, I only needed to give the filament a little extra push to clear it out. Not this. The worst part is that I need to make some parts and ended up bunging my only nozzle trying to clear the obstruction. With the cost of the nozzle and lost time, it's hard see the value of this product at any price. Stupid me bought two spools.

PROS: Looks good on the spool, and portion of part I was able to print.

CONS: Couldn't get through one print before disaster struck due to clogging.
