The grey model is fairly shiny, I would almost call it silver. It is easy to cut to length and easy to use the guide but I watched the monoprice online video before buying it so I already knew how to use the guide.
PROS: Great for organizing cables, relatively easy to set up, clean look
Added and HDMI and optical out cable for my PC to my TV/ Sound bar combo. Pairing the cables together with twist ties would have been ugly, and Velcro would have slipped too much. Using this wrap gave me a nice, clean cable bundle I could tuck behind the wall-mount TV when they weren't in use, an made it look more presentable when I have my PC hooked up.
Good product for combining/hiding cables... and cheap too!!!
Though not apparent in tiny instructions, place the clamp thingy around the cables you want to hide with the "pointy" part of the clamp faces down.- so that the cables are exiting both holes in the clamp. Slide the clamp to the lowest point you will be hiding, then take the wrapping band and stick it on the pointy end... and it slides up over the cables. After figuring it out, a 10 second install!
PROS: Intuitively easy to use
CONS: Included instructions are worthless. Luckily it is simple enough to figure out.
Despite being listed as "Spiral" cable wraps, these wraps are not helical. They clamp over cable bundles at a seam. This means that they cannot be used for bundles of different sizes and will always be the same thickness. I bought a bunch of these thinking I could tidy up a bunch of cable installations, but could not use them on larger bundles. I suppose I should have looked more carefully at the product images.
PROS: Using the included tool, the wrap was incredibly easy to install.
CONS: Not actually a spiral wrap, will not wrap cable bundles larger than 15mm diameter
