Can you fit the PID 7285 inline couplers in this panel slots? I ordered them, but they seem to not be compatible.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The couplers should fit in the keystone jack panel. It may require a little extra force to get it to snap in.

    easy to install but fragile
I used the couplers behind the wall plates. When I install the couplers, I realized that they are very easy to be broken especially when you don't have enough rooms in the box behind the plate. The best solution is to ducktap them before installation. Also try to have as much room as poosible bekind the wall plate.

    PROS: cheap, easy to install
    Monoprice H&S is on time

    CONS: the coupler is fragile

Should have gone with a premade patch panel instead.
I purchased 30 of these for use with a patch panel. Immediately after installing them, 4 of them failed testing with a cable tester. (All cables passed). I don't use all 30 ports so I didn't test every port. As I use new ports around the office it never surprises me when a new port on an untested keystone fails. I have 8 out of the original 30 bad now.

They work intermittently if you press the cable into the jack further (further than the latch on the cable already holds it in). I have 1 that I have taped in because I ran out of spares to swap out when this one started acting up.

Maybe I should have gone with a premade patch panel instead.

    PROS: Inexpensive, Easy to Install

    CONS: High failure rate

    Not amused
Overall, I would still recommend these, but only because there are not many other options available and with some extra preventative work on your end, are still usable.
However, they really are not the best quality, and the only way that I've found to prevent them from falling apart is to tape them together before ever trying to use them. Out of 72 of these, 8 of them are now in pieces and the number would have been higher, but that's where I drew the line and removed them all until sufficient electrical tape had been wasted. (And once they fall apart, they really do not go back together thanks to all the exposed contacts)

This is really disappointing as I vouched for monoprice to the company I work for and this was their first order. Although overall, the experience was mostly positive (thanks to the cables and mounts), there is still a bitter taste left behind by these couplers.

Please fix this or we will continue to look elsewhere until a replacement has been found.

PROS: Very cheap and can potentially prevent a lot of work when setting up a network. When working, they do the job very well. Easy to snap in place as well.

CONS: The casing is very cheap and falls apart even with considerable care.
