How is the width on these (ID: 15656)? I had a problem with the Toolless Cat5e jack (ID: 310) being too wide for the 24-port panel plate (ID: 7260). Will I have the same problem with these?

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The PID 15656 keystone jacks will fit the PID 7260 patch panel no problem. They will not be as wide as the PID 310 keystone jacks were. I hope this helps.
Can you fit the PID 7285 inline couplers in this panel slots? I ordered them, but they seem to not be compatible.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. The couplers should fit in the keystone jack panel. It may require a little extra force to get it to snap in.

I'm trying to use this with the cat6 keystone pn15704 but it doesn't fit! I was concerned with plugs being too wide per other peoples comments but no, the 15704 keystones are too tall on the face. There is a plastic insert in the patch panel. It's like 1/64th too short to fit the face of the keystone. Anyone else run into this? Keystones are too TALL.

    Unacceptable
I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of product from Monoprice and have been very happy with all of it... until now. All Monoprice keystone jacks are slightly too wide to be installed in this panel. I have spoken with their technical support team they are aware of the issue and very will might discontinue this product until it is resolved.

PROS: Great idea, consolidated design, highly interchangeable.

CONS: It doesn't work with any of Monoprice's jacks - i would know, I have almost all of them. You can plug 1 or 2 into it, but you have to leave every third space open. I have to make it work, I've already terminated more than 100 jacks and now need to put them into the rack. So, to make this work I am going sand a tenth of an inch off of each side (plastic casing) and then squeeze them in there.

    No problems here
I just wanted to point out that I had no trouble fitting the CAT6 keystone jacks (part 5384) side by side. I was concerned that maybe there would be an issue with this.

    PROS: Low cost

    Does it's job

    Easy keystone installation

Fell into the tool less keystone trap with this patch panel
Very bad, and the fact the description of this product does not reflect the need for "special" or "slim" keystones 2 years after the issue was reported is very disappointing. Our company will start looking for other sources for our wiring/IT equipment needs. This issue set my server room wiring upgrade and the moving of employees back 2 days while I scrambled to find a local solution, 24 port punch down patch panels. You should be ashamed of yourself Monoprice for misleading your customers like this and not fully disclosing the issues with this product years after finding out the problem.

    PROS: affordable, looks great

CONS: None of the keystones Monoprice sells fit into this product side-by-side, all 24. Do not buy this product if you intend to use all 24 ports and use a normal keystone. Wasted a huge amount of time and $$$ installing a ton of these only to find out that all 24 keystones won't fit.

    Doesn't fit Leviton brand inserts
I am slightly disappointed that this does not work w/ Leviton. I have a ton of Leviton jacks, F-connectors, etc that I was planning on using this for to clean my A/V rack up with. Fortunately, I had some Hubbell and Legrand inserts that fit just fine. I'm sure there are other brands that fit also that are less common.

    PROS: high density

CONS: Some brands will not work.
Some styles will not work if they are too wide

    Excellent!
This is an excellent product, very thoughtful design. Will definitely be buying more of these!

PROS: Metal Faceplate, very clean, high density is a huge plus

CONS: The plastic clips that the keystones snap into are very tight (great for making sure your jacks don't accidentally fall out, but VERY difficult to change out)

Picked up a couple of these because they were only 40% of the price of the 1014 - and discovered they were only 1U. Excellent! Reviews for the 1014 say that keystones stick out about a half-inch - this one doesn't: the keystones mount flush and quite securely, plus each space has a small blank label.

PROS: 1U - half the space of 1014
    keystones mount flush!

Beware toolless keystone might be to wide
Description should clearly mention which keystones PID will fit with full density (24 ports) and/or which one won't.

    PROS: Price

CONS: Toolless keystones such as PID 1044 (Cat6 RJ45 toolless keystone) are a bit too wide. As a result you won't be able to use all 24 slots with such keystones.

    Response from Monoprice
    Hello Danny,

Thank you for your feedback and apologies for the experience with PID 7260. Please keep in mind that the following is noted in the description for PID 1044:

Note that the width of the RJ45 keystones is such that two cannot be used side-by-side in the same wall-plate.

Unfortunately, PID 1044 will not fit side-by-side in our keystone panels either. If you want, I can process a return for PID 1044. We recommend using our inline coupler type keystones instead such as PID 7303 ( http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=105&cp_id=10519&cs_id=1051903&p_id=7303&seq=1&format=2&rep=gab) with this panel. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Thank you!

    Cannot be used for ethernet
I can't believe monoprice would sell something that is not compatible with their keystones. The keystones are too wide, so you will only get 12 usable spaces on this, not 24. The only keystones that narrow enough to fill all 24 spaces are rca or audio keystones, but you will not be able to squeeze 24 ethernets here. Shipping to return this exceeds the value of the item, so we just tossed it into recycling.

    PROS: Physically well built.

CONS: Cannot be used for ethernet keystones.

PROS: Excellent for low budget set ups.

Excellent panel for home use, when terminating multiple types of cables (network, cable, etc), and provides lots of flexibility in what you put in it. Not a lot of room to write on stuff, so your better off sticking to a label maker.

PROS: Works good, allows more flexibility than a standard patch pannel,

CONS: None really, Magic marker doesn't erase easily, Better off with using a label maker.
