    T-Adapter Cat5e 2M/1F, 6 in

T-adapters for CAT5e (ethernet) applications are great cost saving devices that help to reduce the number of lines needed to connect two distant points.  They ARE NOT splitters in the traditional sense.  You CAN NOT use it to split a single port on a modem, computer, switch, router or hub.  What they do allow you to do is connect 2 ports on a switch, hub or router to 2 different computers using a single Ethernet cable to bridge the two points.

It takes the initial two Ethernet connections from two PC's into the two female ports on the "T" adapter. The male Ethernet cable attached to the "T" adapter, connects to a wall plate/inline coupler/network panel. Then from the wall plate/inline coupler/network panel to the "T" adapter's male Ethernet cable and branches off to two female ports with Ethernet cables connected to and from the Router/Hub/Switch.

**Sold individually. Need 1 PAIR (2 devices) to work (PID# 1106 or 1107)**

I have a Western Digital My Cloud EX4 that has 2 ethernet ports to get faster transfer speeds when setup properly in settings. In the location I am using it in, there is only one cable to connect. If I plug this into 2 ports on my hub then use the y adapter on the NAS side to plug into both ethernet ports, would that work for my setup, or no?

I have Product 1107 (T Adapter Cat5e 1M/2F - 6 inch) on the receiving end out of my wall jack and this part:Product 1106 (T Adapter Cat5e 2M/1F - 6 inch) connected to 2 ports on my router with my wall cable plugged into this. I am using 1 jack form 1107 for my computer internet hookup and the other jack form 1107 for my Xbox360 with success.

Works perfect, flawlessly and is a heck of a lot easier than pulling more wires. Well pleased and can highly recommend this. Just don't forget you need both parts to use an existing single Cat5E wall cable wire for 2 separate hookups.

not really its fault. didn't realize that Gigabit uses all 4 pair. this runs a 100mb over two pair.

    PROS: works with 100mb connection

CONS: doesn't not work with 1000mb connection.

Adaptor for two ethernet connections via one line.
My modem and router is on the second story and my theater is in the basement. I wanted to be sure that I had the best connection possible for streaming movies from Netflix so I ran an Ethernet cable. When I added a HDDVR to my Directv, I needed another connection and this was the easiest way.

PROS: Great way to get two circuits on one Cat5e cable run.

CONS: 1106 and 1107 should be sold together since one is not useful without the other.

For those who don't quite understand how these work, you need two of these T-Adapters. Plug one into two ports of your router/switch, plug the other into two devices that need internet. Connect them to each other (perhaps through wall plates).

Each device will see lines 1,2,3 and 6 as active, which is enough for 100megabit ethernet. 100megabit is faster than all but the best wireless connections and way more than enough for internet, streaming video from your NAS, or pretty much anything other than heavy file transfer activity.

PROS: Works like it's supposed to.

    CONS: None

    great for combining cables
when you don't want to run another Cat cable, in my case behing the base moulding and downstairs so my stereo could be internet connected, this is what you use. Just get the opposite adapter and decide how you want it to come out of the wall (just a hole or use the wallplate with corresponding coupler labor). Got that? one adapter on one end, diff one on the other. Draw it out, male and female and it will make sense.

PROS: no need to run additional cable

    CONS: confuses some people

    T adapter
Great product. allows you to run one line through the walls and split it out to two ports on your router, and two devices on the slave side. Remember you will need two of these, one on each end. You have to use two Ethernet ports on your router...you can not run two devices to one port.

    PROS: Low cost splitter

    CONS: none

Works perfectly. I use this type of adapter to connect my single cat5e to my switch, then plug a PID 1107 into the other end (which is a wall plate). I then run two separate cat5e's from the PID 1107 to my devices (xbox360 & HTPC) . Both can and have been on the internet/network SIMULTANEOUSLY with no issues.

    Works Great
back in the old days we made these out of short pieces of cable and punch down sockets. This is way better and more cost effective.

PROS: Great way to get an extra cat5 connection without running another cable.

    CONS: none
