    Cat6 RJ-45 Toolless Keystone - Red

Easy to use, toolless (no soldering or screwdriver req.) modular CAT 6 Keystone jack. RJ45 female connector. To be used with keystone wall plate or panel. Wiring diagram on clip.
This product is intended for use with 23~24 AWG Solid Ethernet cable. It will not work well with stranded Ethernet cable. If you're using stranded Ethernet cable, please use a punch-down style keystone jack.
Comes with lever for ease of installation and retaining clip for secure connection.

Note that the width of the RJ45 keystones is such that two cannot be used side-by-side in the same wall-plate.

Excellent value for money and quick shipment. A couple of these inserts took a bit of persuading to snap into the keystone cover plate. Please note that these "tooless" adapters still require a pair of scissors to trim the excess wire from the sides of the component prior to installation. Also, if you use a decora-style keystone insert you will not be able to mount two of these jacks side-by-side. You also cannot use these in a Leviton "QuickPort" plate as Quickport does not equal keystone.

    Great Keystones
I know that there is another review by some joker who doesn't seem to know how to network, but these are great. I typically get the tooled kind but i ordered these tooless accidently. They were easy to get into position using "Monoprice's own 23awg cat6 cable" and they come with a handy dandy little zip tie to secure the keystone to the cable to make sure its not going anywhere, and it's very convenient not to have to carry the punch down tool around when fiddling around in your attic. All in all, I'd buy these again.

Great product for installing a female line in an old house. Tool was very easy to wire and meets all the speeds of CaT6. Very satisfied!

    CONS: Nothing. MonoPrice is Excellent!

Best toolless jack on the market.
These jacks are easy to sue, and the fact that they come in different colors allows for easy recognition of different jacks if you need to differentiate.

PROS: This toolless jack is very easy to use and allows for quick installation of many different Ethernet ports.

CONS: There could be slightly more room in the wire channel, but that would only help with installation.

Easy enough to use, but if you're doing a lot of jacks, buy a punchdown tool and use regular keystones. Again, these work just fine and are really simple to use, but only if you have no need for the additional tool long-term. Punchdown tools ensure connections are darn near perfect.

    It worked... eventually.
I chose these tooless jacks because I did not want to spend the money on a tool, I won't be doing wiring projects on a regular basis. So for the money, they were worth it.

But due to the blades not cutting into the insulation I had a 50% failure rate. Fortunately by opening the jack back up and taking a razor blade, I was able to scrape away the insulation, allowing for a complete connection when I closed the jack again.

PROS: Wiring diagrams are printed on the jack. Pretty easy to figure out how to wire it.

CONS: No instructions. Unless the jack is taken apart on the hinge, very difficult to work the wires into position.
The blades did not adequately cut through the insulation. I had a 50% failure rate.

    Too much trouble
While the jacks are up to Cat6 specification, I found them to be insanely difficult to use with Monoprices own 23AWG Cat6 cable. I ended up having to use a pair of needle-nose to pull the wires into the jacks notches so that the blades would engage.

I strongly recommend regular 110 punchdown jacks instead theyre much easier to install.

They simply don't cut through 24awg CAT6 insulation. I could not get any of these to work after making several. Upon taking them apart for failure analysis, I noticed the little knife stabs aren't close enough together to make it all the way through the insulation. They claim they are for 23awg or 24awg CAT6, but I would not order these if you're using 24awg because they either won't work, or you'll get a high failure rate like others have already mentioned in previous reviews.

PROS: They look nice, and look convenient.

CONS: Hard to put wire in place without taking the hinge apart.
