RJ-45/RJ-11 Modular Crimping Tool
This Modular Crimping Tool is an 8", carbon steel crimper for RJ11/12 and RJ45 plugs. The crimper includes a stripping and cutting blade, with a plastic shield to protect against accidental cuts when crimping. A locking pin keeps the crimper closed when not in use.
PROS: This unit is identical in parts and manufacture to the Ideal Telemaster crimp tool I bought many years ago, and finally wore out after literally thousands of crimps. This unit is also about 1/3 of the price I paid for the Telemaster.
CONS: None, really, but it would be even better with a ratcheting crimp.

PROS: Strips, Cuts, and Crimps rj11 cable and connectors very well. Great Price!
CONS: Strips too much length off of wire.
PROS: Crimps well
CONS: Doesn't strip Cat5 jacket that well
Great product over all.
PROS: Great! Works like a charm.
CONS: No Cons
PROS: The Crimping tool was great it crimps flawlessly and is built very well. Should last for a long time.
CONS: The stripper cutts the wires inside the casing so you need to be carful when taking the outside coating off the cable.
PROS: Price is right for an RJ-45 crimper otherwise not readily found for 2-3 x the cost. With extra work and care can be used to do the job.
CONS: Sadly, Shortfalls are probably why the price is low. It was a way to sell off a product that didn't make the grade in design and manufacturing. As confirmed by cons of other reviewers, the following defects are evident :1. Does not crimp well & you have to squeeze hard to get the clamp to work. 2. The stripper cuts the wires inside the casing so you have to be careful when cutting. 3. The cable stop for the stripper is too far past the blade so it strips too much of the covering sheath. You have to trim and re-cut the wires to correct length.
PROS: the cutter is really good on this.
CONS: The Cat 5 crimping does not crimp well. Actually I find the more you squeeze to clamp the worse the tool works. Odd because you have to squeeze hard to get the clamp to work. After you hear a click the lock no longer works. If you squeeze and don't hear a click the cable may pull right out.
