Purchased this wireless network card and physically cut it in half to fit inside a Dell Inspiron Zino HD. (Cut off the part where there aren't any electrical components just the blank silicon wafer so it would fit inside the unit.) Windows 7 detected the card without any issues. Had to purchase antennas for Mini PCI-E cards off eBay to complete the installation and it works great. Wished Monoprice carried the antennas for those who already do not have any built-in antennas inside their computers.

Love it, can't beat the price anywhere

PROS: This card went into an nettop, Aspire Revo 1600 that came with no networking card but an mini pci-express card slot. It fit right in and was recognized by Windows 7 out of the box. If you're replacing a laptop wireless card then you should already have an antenna wired inside.

CONS: If you're planning to install this card where non previously existed keep in mind that the card itself will be useless without the antenna, which is not included in the box. Go on eBay and pick an antenna up for five dollars or less.

did not work on my HP dv6636nr laptop. Had something to do with the bios in my HP laptop that does not allow to install other wlan card then the ones they have given permission in the bios ????

gona see if i can install this on my brother laptop but i am sure it will work fine

Monoprice's service was great, they sent me a replacement before I sent back the first shipped unit. Sadly, the second one was also missing one of the antenna connectors. And, according to them, the whole batch had the same problem. Had to get a USB adapter instead.

PROS: Price was right.

CONS: The original and the replacement came with a missing antenna connector.

Previous wireless adapter wouldn't connect to the NET at various places at my school, so I decided to take a chance on this adapter, and bingo! Can now get the internet at school. Simple to install, great for product replacement of faulty adapters like mine. thanks!

I purchased 2 cards. Tried them both out and upgraded to the lasted driver from the manufacturer. I did get them both to connect at 135-150 Mbps. The problem is that you will get intermittent signal loss multiple times an hour. Usually only lasts about 2-5 seconds and recovers. But it did get annoying when I tried it in gaming and watching Hulu.

Overall recommendation, if you need an inexpensive network adapter for basic surfing and email then this is the card for you. If you are going to stream video or gaming then I would not recommend, which kind of defeats the purpose of having an N-adapter. This is going to be my first Monoprice Return.

FYI: I did purchase the USB N-adapter and works great! Product ID: 5333. My wife has had no problems with it on her computer. I was just hoping for a non-USB dongle N-Speed solution.

Purchased specifically to use in dual boot machine with Win 7 and Mac Lion OS. Detected and works perfectly in Win7 but can not get de3vice to show up in Mac Lion using driver software from adapter Mfgr site. Still performance with Win7 has been flawless.

CONS: Unable to get device to show up in driver software in Mac Lion. Works perfectly in Windows 7.

I ordered 10 of these as a test to replace 802.11g wireless cards in several laptops and installation was a snap on Windows 7 based laptops. The driver is already present, or Windows update finds it fast.

In Windows XP it took forever to find the driver using Windows Update, so I had to do a websearch to find the driver and download it, which took awhile. It would be nice if Monoprice would add a link to the driver.

On a few laptops I had to cut the card to half height, which was a little tricky, scoring or perforations would be nice.

If not for those minor issues, I'd rate it a 10.

I do plan on ordering 70 more.

I thought this supports up to 72mb on a 2.4ghz, 20mhz wide channel?

PROS: It works in Win7.

CONS: It is only reporting 65mb on a 20mhz wide 2.4ghz channel. My old usb that it is replacing shows up as 72mb.

I bought this to replace the wireless card on my wife's one year old Gateway (just outside the warranty). This laptop is running Windows 7. It was easy to install and I had it up and running quick and now the wife is pleased. :) and I am pretty pleased with the $7 price.

This card works great in a Dell D620 Windows 7 plug and play's it. Can now get 135Mbps out to about 40 feet, 120Mbps at 60 ft in my garage. Typical great product from Monoprice at a wife approved price.

CONS: The card I received is a Half-size Mini PCI-E one not the Full-Size card illustrated on the website. Buyer beware.

I really like this card and thought the price was great. The only thing that would have made it better is if it was full speed N instead of slow speed N. But it works for what I wanted it for in my Toshiba laptop.

PROS: Wireless N?

CONS: Not full speed N.

Purchased one to test prior to upgrading all 4 of my laptops it worked just great (in both Windows and Linux).

Performance (both range and speed) were as expectedthough it is only a 2-antenna unit, and 150MBps. Did not experience performance issues (yet), as another reviewer has noted.

As mentioned by another reviewer, the card is "full" mini-PCIe, but has the mounting holes for half and there is nothing on the circuit board beyond the half. I also cut this card down to size for fit / test in my Sony Vaio UX - again worked perfect (unfortunately, this makes me lose bluetooth, though). Wish the other half of the PCB was either scored or perforated, to easier facilitate the modification THIS would make it a 100% perfect solution for just about anything.

Will definitely be ordering 3 more, and highly recommend to others.

$7 wireless N card!?! Are you kidding me, AND it works like a champ!?! Man I love Monoprice...I ordered two, one for my Toshiba laptop and one for my son's Acer. Both work flawlessly. My only complaint may be that they didn't come with a cd for drivers but I ordered them with a wireless PCI card that came with drivers for both so if only the mini-PCI was ordered, it's possible that it would come with a CD. Keep in mind that this card only has two antenna connections so it is a direct replacement for an old wireless G card but probably won't work if you are trying to replace an existing wireless N card (which may have three antenna connections)

I haven't been able to benchmark the card to see if it's truly running at N speeds or not. It's functioning pretty daily now. Another note: You can install this card with a PCIe 1x adapter on a PCI 16x slot as long as your motherboard is not SLI. This is useful with you have a mITX or mATX form factor MOBO with only 1 16x PCI slot but you're using integrated graphics not a dedicated video card.

CONS: The device was indeed missing one of two antenna connections. It seem like it wasn't soldered on, but the soldering points are still on the board. You can easily solder an antenna on if you're using a mPCIe to PCIe 1x adapter, not a biggie.

The worst part was figuring out how to get this thing to work! The drivers included did not detect the device attached into my hackintosh. Turns out you need different drivers if you're running 10.6 or 10.7. The drivers are included on RALink's website and on th slink provided above along with instructions. This enabled me to use Airdrop (with a simple modification of terminal of course)! :-D! Another con is that the Wireless Utility provided by RALink didn't work properly for me. I had to use the old version of the Utility. NOTE: this card will not be detected as an airport wireless card in your OSX machine (hackintosh or not), but rather an ethernet card, you'll manually configure the settings on RALink's wireless utility to change anything.

I purchased three of these bad boys to put into old Dell Latitude D630s in order to get more WiFi throughput. I definitely got more throughput, 135Mbs vs 55Mbs, however the Dell D630 Motherboard fits a full-sized Mini PCI-E card and these are now cut in half so it does not lock into place. I'm sure it's shorter now to accommdate the newer laptops & many reviews requesting it but from the picture & reviews, I was expecting the full-sized version. I still installed it so hopefully it doesn't slide out of place. If it does, it's going back!
