Questions and Answers
PROS: Works as advertised with normal cables.
CONS: Doesn't work with the Redmere cable I've run in my wall to my TV. The only way I can get a signal to my screen now is to remove the faceplate from the wall and stretch the cable to my receiver. So much for a clean-looking install.
PROS: High quality well made component.
CONS: Be careful to match it to your wall plate! I purchased the PID 6733 6-port wall plate at the same time. This keystone did not fit into any of the ports. It's not a matter of it not fitting well with other keystones, by itself it will not fit into the ports. It is too wide. The other keystones I purchased (6557, 6546, 6549, and 6545 all RCA jacks) did. Keystone 6566 (red recessed RCA jack) also was too wide for the 6-port plate.) However, fortunately, I had a spare Leviton 6-port wall plate and all 6 keystones fit into the Leviton wall plate so I am using that. I am not sure where the fault lies, but buyer be informed.
Buy flexible in-wall cable and make sure the end is "small".
CONS: Difficult to install with CL2 HDMI cables.
The problem is just the very fact that it is an HDMI keystone, and no part of the design takes into consideration the rather large size of most HDMI cable ends. This issue was apparently taken into consideration when item 2730 was designed, as they included a 4" extension cable to accommodate tricky in wall connections.
As it is, I'm stuck now purchasing a whole bunch of swiveling adapters (item 5133) in order to (hopefully) make these work.
As an aside, my kingdom for an item like 2730 that simply has two other keystone jacks in it.
PROS: excellent quality, functional
CONS: the application itself, HDMI in a keystone, is flawed and needs to be considered in terms of design
UPDATE I retested these and they now appear to pass a 3D signal, so I would give these a great rating.
PROS: Works as advertised, but not everything is advertised.
CONS: Does not support 1.4 3D
CONS: Does NOT work with my in wall HDMI cables.
PROS: when it works it works.
CONS: when it doesn't work it doesn't work.
2 keystone + 30ft HMDI inwall cable
Recently it seems the keystones can only take 1080i signal, 1080p signal cuts in and out and when it does work has lots of green lines and dots all around. When I switched to 1080i signal everything looks right now. Yes very strange
For all you interseted did check the HDMI cable - works perfectly.
in anycase works well for me as HD TV is only 1080i or 720p anyway.
PROS: Looks good
easy to install
works well when using standard HD TV (720p or 1080i)
CONS: Doesn't seem to work with 1080p - 30ft HDMI
PROS: They work with *some HDMI Cables (RedMere 30Foot for instance on the back end).
CONS: They do NOT work with RedMere 15 Foot Ultra Slim Cables on the back end!!! I was told they would work fine. All my cables have been tested individually and they all fail when the keystone jack is introduced!
