    Works GREAT - Almost...
This will work great once you go and get the BROADCOM WIDCOMM drivers. Don't even install the the disc that came with this, THROW IT AWAY. Goto https://www.broadcom.com/support/?gid=2

and download the second item WIDCOMM Bluetooth Windows Software. This will handle everything you need and connect easily.

PROS: Small, inexpensive, Broadcom chipset, ver 4.0

CONS: Old drivers, hidden software on install, difficult to setup in Windows with included software.

    Great Product!
This is my second one. They work great. I use them on linux systems connected to 'real' speakers. Hardware support for linux (ubuntu 14.04 and raspberry pi) is great. Software config is not for the faint of heart but that isn't a fault of the product.

    Works Great
Received this quickly as usual from Monoprice in perfect condition.

As someone else mentioned here, Since I was running Windows 7 64bit, I installed the drivers from rather than the included disc:
    http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php

I still couldn't get it to see my phone or headset and was pulling my hair out. I then came across a post somewhere else mentioning to check if you had the Windows Bluetooth services running and of course, I had one of them disabled!

Under Component Services (type services.msc in the start menu search box) you should have
    - Bluetooth Service (Automatic startup)
    - Bluetooth Support Service (Automatic startup)

set (and started!) in order to have it detect any of your devices. Hope that helps some other people that may have disabled those previously.

    PROS: - Great price
    - Low profile.
    - Blue indicator light is nice
    - Driver CD included

CONS: - Packaging is excessive. Mini DVD/CD so you can save a little plastic!

If you are having issues you don't know what you are doing
I plugged this into my computer running Win 8.1 x64 and it recognized it and installed some drivers. Then, I went to the Broadcom website and downloaded their drivers, since this is a Broadcom chipset. I then installed those, which was painless. Then, I went into their utility and set up the connection with my phone. From the time I plugged it into my USB port to the point where I had remote music playing from my phone to my computer took less than 20 minutes. What could be easier?

A note to buyers: When you buy a wireless product like this, don't even bother with the disc that comes with it. It will just waste more of your time. Just find out who makes the chipset and go right to their website. 99% of the time that will work just fine. In this case of course, it is a Broadcom chipset, so go to the Broadcom website and download their bluetooth driver.

PROS: Compact, great signal, hides in your USB port without getting caught on anything, low cost

    CONS: None

    It works!
I almost RMA'd this product. Spend 4hrs reading forums, talking to microsoft support and downloading random drivers from Broadcomm before I finally figured it out. What worked for me (originally posted by 'mk' in the reivews of this product):

Download and install new drivers from the broadcomm website (https://www.broadcom.com/support/?gid=2) entitled WIDCOMM Bluetooth Windows Software (its the second one from the top).

    Connect your device

Run the driver installer again and click repair

    Connect your bluetooth device

If you are connecting a speaker, find your playback devices folder and select the device

This worked on a windows 7 x64 machine.

PROS: It works, I'm able to connect things to my computer

CONS: Support is garbage. It comes with faulty drivers and even after you download the new drivers is still fails to work.

USB Bluetooth v4.0 USB Dongle is great
I purchased a windows 7 laptop and found out after delivery that it had no Bluetooth. Monoprice had a USB Bluetooth v4.0 USB Dongle. It was shipped quickly and bluetooth device worked great right out of the packaging. A few weeks later, I upgraded to Windows 8 and the dongle worked fine.

PROS: The thing is small. The range is good. It worked flawlessly in Windows 7 and Windows 8 with zero effort on my part.

CONS: None. Don't drop it if you have bad eyes because it is very small.

great adapter on my toshiba laptop
Excellent product by monoprice as usual...had a little trouble pairing my bose soundlink II to my laptop after I installed the supplied cd software, it showed my bose device but said disconnected and my bose speaker just kept searching...but I read the reviews here and they guided me to the link to download the bluetooth update for win 7 and made sure those 2 bluetooth settings were set to automatic start, one of mine was set on manual...after all that the bose soundlink II sounds amazing streaming xm radio from my laptop...thank you monoprice and the other guys that helped with the update link!

    PROS: Price

CONS: Need the win 7 bluetooth update

    Tricky, but great
I'll make this as quick as I can: Bought BT headphones, bought this so I could use them with my computer, this didn't work. I tried everything suggested here and it never worked. None of the links offered by others worked. Chatted with Monoprice tech support and that didn't work. They sent me a second device (didn't even ask me to return the first) and it didn't work either. My biggest concern was that while other drivers would install, when I ran the Broadcomm installer it wouldn't validate the device so it wouldn't even install. I couldn't bring myself to return it (though Monoprice offered) after they sent me a second one free.

Two months ago my power supply and motherboard went out, so I had to replace them. I was on an Asus motherboard with an AMD X2 250 (read: just a few years old) and replaced that with an Asus on the latest Intel chipset and Intel processor. I happened to notice this sitting on my desk so I tried installing it. Windows update grabbed some drivers, but it still wasn't working. Downloaded the drivers from Monoprice's links... still not working (restarts in there as well). I tried the Broadcom drivers (just Google Broadcom Bluetooth Driver it's the first link) and this time it validated! So I don't know what was going on with my old motherboard, but even using the same case and USB ports on the front of that case, it validated, installed, and they're working perfectly!

    PROS: Finally working!

CONS: Story, supplied drivers are awful
