Ahh I lost the USB cable for this, can someone let me know which replacement will work? I found this other cable on Monoprice (USB-A to Mini-B Cable - 5-Pin, 28/28AWG) it looks like it'll fit but I want to be sure it'll power the hub. Thank you!!

I don't see Windows 8 or 8.1 or 10 listed as compatible operatic system. Will it work with these?
    David C on Feb 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm using it on Windows 8.1 right now, it works exactly as you would expect.
This device has no special software or nonstandard features, it should work with any computer that supports USB, regardless of operating system.
Is this compatible with Windows 10?
    steve m on Jan 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not. This Hub is a 2.0 USB backward compatible with 1.1 USB. If you browse Monoprice search "7 Port USB Hub w/ AC adapter "go down the page and there a list of the Windows Operation Systems this hub is compatible with. I think you should be alright. Hope this helps.
Does anybody know what size the tip of the power supply is?
    John M on Oct 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't know, sorry

    Works good with Raspberry Pi
Three drives, mouse, wireless keyboard dongle, all work together while powering a Raspberry Pi.

PROS: More than enough ports for my devices.
Seems to have an adequate power supply.

    CONS: No remote control.
Still have not figured out auto sense - sometimes it works.

    Two ports are hidden
Looks like a five-port hub. Took me a while to discover that the top panel slides back to reveal two more hubs.

    PROS: Compact, well designed.

    CONS: None.

I have some back-connect hubs (Monoprice) and thought that this hub may be a good substitute.

Well made, clever design, does what it is supposed to and efficient size, good job.

PROS: I like the slide-back cover for the vertical-insert ports, keeps out dust and debris, nice feature.

The side connect hubs may be a problem, but I am surprised that it seems to work equally as well as the back-connect, perhaps it depends on how you have your surface set up.

Like the top-view indicator lights as well, very convenient, easier to see than those on other styles, which are usually located under the front edge of the hub.

CONS: AC adapter: I have this concern with most wall-warts. They are NOT marked with the make and model of device they fit. I have had to individually label them so I can see what powers what on my power strip (nuisance), but if the power adapter gets separated from its matching device, there is no way to marry them up, particularly since voltages and current specs may vary wildly from device to device, grab the wrong power adapter, plug it into the wrong device and you have a smoke generator.

Every power adapter should have the device it fits clearly shown on the casing.

    Worked well, until it failed
Upon reconnecting the hub to my computer it complained that the USB device was 'drawing too much power.' This despite the external power pack being connected, and nothing in any of the USB hub ports. I disconnected all cables including power supply, reconnected just the USB cable to computer, same power draw error. Swapped USB cables, same error. Hub appears completely dead, power LED stays off.
I liked it up until it failed.

PROS: Straightforward 7 port powered USB 2.0 hub

CONS: Hub internally failed after about 18 months of service.
Also, the AC adapter casing fell apart while plugged into the power outlet. Had not touched it for many months, it just came apart in my hand as I was unplugging it.

I'm using this with my PS3, everything I connect through this cable incl. USB hard drive works great. I'm happy with the purchase.

PS: I wrote another review about the 32ft USB extender cable which I bought together with this and didn't work. Not happy, monoprice didn't publish it!

PROS: Excellent product, good looking, doesn't look cheap at all and stays cool!

    So far so good
Got it about a week ago and so far so good. The only bad thing about it is the location of the main USB port and power port. They're located on the side instead of the back part of the hub, taking up more space on your desk because of the cables.

    PROS: Size

    Number of ports

CONS: Main USB port and power port on the side (not back)

    Everything's first rate—as usual!
I have used several different USB hubs, but none have been as reliable and capable as this unit.

PROS: As always when dealing with Monoprice, I get a quality product, delivered as promised, at a fair and competitive price. (On one occasion when one of these hubs—I have several—failed in the past, Monoprice replaced it under warranty quickly at no cost.)

    CONS: None

    Does what it says
What's not to like? Monoprice produces good quality stuff at low prices, and this is no exception. I own two of these, one for my Xk3y on my xbox 360 and another for my main PC. Both work great.

    PROS: Good price
    Good quality
External power supply for USB powered devices
LED's show when devices are connected and communicating properly.

CONS: Wish the power and host cables were on the back instead of the side

    Works great
Came in a very timely manner - ordered on Sunday, received on Monday morning (next day in sunny Arizona).

I don't quite get why two of the USB ports are covered up with a slide-able cover, but that's okay.

There are lights - a red one for when the hub is on and individual blue lights when each specific usb port is in use. Nice overall design.

The hub is a bit lightweight - depending on your situation could be a plus or a minus. I've used with iPod Touch, iPod shuffle, printer, and a couple of other various devices - all worked great, no problems. The shuffle doesn't require you to plug into electrical outlet, ipod Touch does - same as most hubs.

Will probably buy again for others. I plan to at least use it for travel - big improvement on the miserly 2 USB ports on Macbook.

    Great Hub
I have one for home and one at the office. If you use a mac, a powered USB hub helps a ton, and this one works great.

PROS: Nice design, good port locations.

    CONS: None.
