I think like most people, I just want to use a USB-C to USB-A cable to use all my existing charge equipment with my new phone. Glad to report this version works to fast-charge my Pixel2. It also works for data transfers to windows, which is a nice bonus.
Doesn't work for target disk mode-2016 MacBook Pro to 2016 iMac OS Sierr
Thought this would permit target disk mode but no luck. Apple support didn't know how to do it either. I bought a Thunderbolt 2.0 to Thunderbolt 3.0 (USB-C) and that did it. Those USB-C ports on the new Apple laptops are a pain...
I just happened to buy this cable from Monoprice because I use and trust their cables. Then I read about the issues with some other companies' USB-C cables and felt like I dodged a bullet! I've been using the cable for a few months and everything's great.

PROS: Excellent construction, works perfectly, reasonable price.
Cable works well and has a nice quality feel to it. Does not seem to allow for Quick charging on my Nexus 5X like some other similar cables, but I'll take the build quality of this one over those regardless.
PROS: build quality feel of the cable solid connections
Bought this to charge my Nexus 5x from my EasyAcc phone charger battery. It does allow data exchange from my laptop as well as charging from the battery, though it doesn't charge the phone in 30 minutes, more like an hour and a half, but that could easily just be the limit to my phone charger.
PROS: Seems sturdy
CONS: wire covering isn't smooth and slick, so it's more likely to knot up when you pull it out of your pocket full of other cables
The cord is quite thick and sturdy looking. The build seems very nice. Works perfectly to charge my Nexus 5X from my computer. Not sure if it does the charging rapidly thing since I don't have another adapter to plug it in. Overall, very happy with the cord...less happy with the price since I need lots of these cords.
New Google Nexus 5X only came with a single USB-C cable to plug into the power supply, but no other adapters or cables. But wanted to plug into my laptop USB-A port rather than use another wall/power-strip outlet.
PROS: Worked great to plug USB-C to my laptop USB-A port. Perfect length for my desk. Perfect length to use in car, for same purpose.
