82ft 25M USB 2.0 A Male to A Female Active Extension / Repeater Cable (Kinect & PS3 Move Compatible Extension)

Due to its design, USB cable has a normal maximum length of about 5 meters (16.4 feet), but you can get longer distances by using an active USB extension cable from Monoprice!

This is a bus-powered extension cable that can be used to increase the length of a device without any signal loss or potential performance problems. It contains active electronics, which boost the USB signal for maximum reliability and performance over extended distances.

The cable can be operated as self-powered extender, for use with USB cameras‚ printers‚ webcams‚ keyboard/mouse, etc. The optional application of DC power (via the DC power jack, use PID 2220) is designed for devices which need much power, such as USB hard drives, active hubs, high-power wifi networking devices‚ etc.

It is a true plug-and-play device. No additional drivers are required. It supports Windows® 98/2000/XP/Vista/7, Mac® OS X® v10.0 or higher, and Linux. It can also be used with many types of USB devices, including the Xbox® Kinect®* and the Eye of the PS3® Move!

    * Important notes for Kinect users:

    1. You can use this cable to connect the USB version of the Kinect only. It is not compatible with the proprietary Kinect connector. If you have a Kinect connector, please use PID 8487.

    2. The Kinect requires more power than traditional USB ports are capable of providing. In order to prevent damage to equipment, Microsoft has designed the Kinect with a proprietary connector. If your Kinect did not come with a USB/Power adapter, you must purchase one from Microsoft before you can use this extension cable.

    Is this rated for in-wall?
    A shopper on Aug 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi, this cable is not rated for in-wall. You can consider Product 16196 for your application. Thanks for checking.
does this Cable require additional power? If so, is it by 5v or 12v battery? thanks
    A shopper on Nov 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, it draws power from the USB port. I would not suggest using this with a device at the other end which also requires USB power.
    Can I string these together....put 2 (or more) 82ft cables end-to-end?
    Douglas F on Dec 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't believe so. The USB 2.x standard allows for 7 tiers of hubs or repeaters with a maximum distance between of 5 meters. The devices on each end count against this total, leaving 5 repeaters. That allows 6 spans of 5 meters, or a total of 30 meters. I imagine the 25 meter cable has 4 internal repeaters, leaving one for a hub on the device end. Note that some motherboards and add in cards multiply their ports by including a hub that counts against this 7 hub/repeater limit also. More details Google "USB extension limit".

    But I haven't tried it.
Has anyone used this with a touchscreen monitor? I have to place a monitor approximately 75 feet from the pc and would like to know if this would work?
    A shopper on Dec 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello, while I can't guarantee this will work with your particular touchscreen monitor. Our customers have tested them on other touchscreen monitors and they have worked fine prior. I hope this helps, thank you!

    Long USB extender works fine
Our application was to read physiological data from near powerful magnets with a PC that had to be kept out of the magnetic field. We were concerned that this longest USB extender we have ever found would work without the optional external power adapter. MonoPrice did not have it to sell, but in the end the extender worked fine without that power adapter.

PROS: Very long, in our application no additional power was needed.

CONS: The optional external power adapter is not available from MonoPrice.

    Works perfect for me
It took about 30 seconds for Windows to configure the drivers for this cable when I first plugged it in. After the first time it takes just two or three seconds for my PC to recognize the cable and the audio mixer at the far end. I'm getting rock solid audio streams, 24 bit, 18 in x 18 out, back and forth from my mixer. I'm in an RF noisy environment, and have Ethernet and balanced mic cables running alongside for 75'. No issues with cross talk, and no lost data. I'm really pleased.

PROS: Works perfectly with HP Laptop (Windows 7) and X Air XR18 mixer.

82' + 12' USB "A" to "B" cable is more than enough length for my needs.

Isn't noisy next to long balanced mic cables.

    Relatively light weight.

CONS: Not a "con" but a note: Be sure your cable path allows for the repeater module in the middle of the cable.

very long USB cables work perfectly

PROS: I purchased 8 extra long (80', 65', 45', etc.) USB cables to add to each of the 10' cables that I purchased, one for each camera, and the pictures are perfect.

    CONS: none

    82' USB M-F Extension cable
Suggest offering a method of keeping the cable organized - a rollout-rollup cable holder designed for this cable with a radius of sufficient distance to keep from damaging it I am using an empty wire roll.

Ordering was simple, quick, great service.

PROS: LED lights indicating power, link, cable is great quality.

CONS: Length is hard to manage without a method of organization, ie a "cable-roller/holder"

    USB cable for A/V Production
Cable was received quickly. Cable feels like it is good quality and it was easy to work with. We use this in a large auditorium with professional audio and video reproduction. In our application we send audio signals from an AV control computer (in video booth) to an external Lexicon sound card (in audio booth) and then into our sound system. We were worried about quality and possible time delay that would cause video and audio to get out of sync. The cable works flawlessly. It was a superior option to running line level audio cables.

PROS: Definitely plug and play. Little to no signal loss.

CONS: signal amplifier can be difficult to pull through wire holes as it is much larger in size than the cable.

    Best ads-b cable ever
    Read the pros' comments

PROS: The cable allows you to mount a usb dongle tuner r820t or t2 in the mast and then have the usb cable feed the pc with 1090 ads-b data. Better than having a long run of coax and the dongle at the pc. Too much loss in that application. So to refresh you have an antenna/short jumper (antenna to mcx)/ dongle/ usb extender from monoprice/ pc. Then run your adsb or dump1090. Works awesome!

    CONS: None found yet.
