    is the ferrite core moveable?
    A shopper on Feb 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The ferrite core is fused to the cable. If it's not in a spot that's appropriate for you, my suggestion is buy a cable without a ferrite core, then buy a separate ferrite core that you can attach yourself (they normally clip on).
Will this work for PC to 3D Printer communication?
    A shopper on Dec 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It should. I use them for all sorts of purposes.

    Perfect for PS3 Controller Charging
I bought a couple of the 6ft versions this cable and use them for charging my PS3 controllers. They work well so I decided to get a few 15ft versions in the event that I have friends over and we have to charge while playing (I usually don't charge while playing, I just use another charged controller). At these prices why not have a few extras and be prepared?

As stated in my review of the 6ft cables, the build quality is excellent on these cables. Solid, tight connectors, thick durable outer covering, gold plated connectors. Flawless.

Perfect Tethering Cable for Pro Photographers
15 feet is the max length before you need to use a repeater for USB signals. This is the perfect length for tethered photoshoots

    PROS: long, sturdy, affordable

CONS: cable is a bit stiff but can soften once broken in with usage

    Excellent performance and value!
As usual, Monoprice proves to be the 1 stop for all connection needs (and more).
This cable is highly recommended for anyone wishing to play Playstation 3 games while charging your controller ... excellent ... and perfect length.

    PROS: Top shelf quality

    CONS: None

Great cable for Canon DSLR tethered shooting
I bought a few cheapo cables off ebay, thinking they would work for tethered camera shooting. Couldn't get them to work. I then read that past a certain length, the signal needs an active cable. Tried this one, as well as the extension cables (PID 8751 and 6149) and they work like a charm...no signal loss!

Great price too. I'm gonna buy more as spares.

PROS: It works! Good quality cable.

    CONS: None

    Quality cheap playstation controller extender
I got this cable so I could lay my fat butt on the couch and play my PS3 while allowing the controller to charge. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! The cord is high quality and includes the ferrite cores. To be honest I don't know if the cores reduce signal interference or just make my l33t online skills better but don't worry they don't add much weight. I would say they only make the entire cord heavier by maybe half a bag of cheetos, I would use real units of measure its just I had that half bag sitting next to me while I write this review. Ok seriously it's a 15 foot black USB A to mini B cable and it works great.

    Great tether cable!
    see my article here:

PROS: I use this to tether my Canon 5DII to my imac... cable performs exactly the same as expensive ($70) "specialty" cables.

CONS: no idea yrt on longevity, but at this price, who cares!

    Heavy Duty
I brought this to replace my PS3 controller cable. This is night and day different. You can feel the quality of the cable. This is almost twice as thick as the cable which comes with the system. You don't have to worry about the interference because the cable is so insulate. And the length is perfect for me to sit in my sofa and play in front of my 46 inch Sony LCD TV.

    Great Cables
used this cable with my nikon dslr hooked up to my macbook pro for photoshoots. works like a charm and clients love it. monoprice packaged the cables nicely (theyre just cables i know) and shipping was actually cheaper to send them overnight over 2 day shipping. thanks MP!

High quality USB for next to notihing
I needed a long USB cable to do some tethered photography in my small studio. A trip to Best Buy yielded only 12ft "Rocketfish" cables for $35 each. I needed them immediately, but I refuse to pay $35 (plus tax) for what should be a $10 item at retail. I purchase 2 of these 15' cables for a total of $4.02 and $5.36 in overnight shipping. Less than $10 for 2 cables delivered overnight vs. $35 for a shorter cable of dubious quality. You do the math. I will be getting all my USB/Ethernet/HDMI/etc. cables/connectors/etc. from Monoprice for the foreseeable future.

PROS: Cable is supple as opposed to stiff
    Connectors are of high quality

    CONS: None

    Perfect for tethering DLSR cameras
I ordered two of these one to keep in my camera bag and one to keep near my computer tower. These are very high quality at a great price. Prior to getting these cables I only had about 8 feet worth to work with, and that's not nearly enough when one is regularly taking a lot of pictures for eBay. 15ft makes it a LOT easier to work with your camera tethered to your computer by giving you a lot more room to work and set up the shot you want. I'm sure these would be just as useful for many other purposes as well but anyone who uses DLSR Pro or any other camera tethering software will love having the extra length to work with. GREAT cables.
