Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology, 30ft

Reliably connect your home theater equipment to greater distances than with passive cables using this Select Active Series High Speed HDMI® Cable with RedMere® Technology from Monoprice!

This High Speed HDMI Cable supports the following general features:

    • Active signal regeneration to ensure accurate reproduction over longer distances
    • 10.2Gbps data throughput
    • CL2 in-wall fire safety rating
    • 28AWG copper conductors
    • Gold plated connectors

It supports the following HDMI features:

    • 1080p resolution at 60Hz
    • 4K resolution at 24Hz
    • 3D video
    • HDMI Ethernet Channel
    • Audio Return Channel
    • Deep Color up to 16-bits per channel
    • x.v.Color™
    • High Definition Audio, including SA-CD, DVD-Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio™, and Dolby TrueHD™

Note that Active HDMI cables are directional. Check each end for markings indicating whether it should be connected to the source or the display device. Connecting them backwards will not hurt anything, they just won't work until connected properly.

Note also that only one Active HDMI cable should be present in any single cable run, even if using a switch, splitter, or matrix. Connecting multiple active HDMI cables in series will cause them to fail to reliably transmit the video signal because each is trying to do the same thing.

TIP: It is a good idea to test cables and connections before installing them inside a wall. If there are any issues or problems, we can help you resolve them before you spend the time, effort, and expense of installing them inside the walls.

You need active HDMI cables at this length
Works reliably at 30' (which, by the way, was only 48 cents more than the 25' cable). Active cable means you need to watch which end you are plugging into what.

PROS: 30 feet long and reliable!

    Flexible cable, about 5/16" diameter.

    Did I mention 30'?

CONS: Black-on-black lettering identifying SOURCE and DISPLAY are hard to read. Wish they had put the lettering in the red part of the connector that says "HDMI". It's much more legible.

    It works.
Perfect reproduction of video and audio absolutely glitch-free. Sensing at both ends (i.e. presence of source and display) works exactly as it does with short passive cables. Connectors come with plastic caps. Construction appears to be of very high quality that will withstand more handling and rough treatment than el-cheapo cables. In fact, the cable is probably a lot stronger than the connector you will plug it into, so you need to be careful that you don't damage your equipment by getting moving things tangled in the cable.

There's no excuse for "confusing" the source and destination ends of this cable. They are CLEARLY labelled in two places at each end. You'd have to be unconscious to get this wrong.

One very minor gripe is that the cable is rather thick (7.25mm) and stiff (but it appears to be tough and durable as a result). It comes packaged in a very tight coil and will have taken a curled set by the time you get it. It takes a bit of patience to uncurl it, and some time in a warm room to get it to relax the bend out of it.

I didn't try features such as Ethernet over HDMI and downstream audio, so I can't comment on how well, or if, they work.

PROS: Good construction. Signaling works correctly. Glitch-free audio and video. Source and destination ends are clearly labelled.

CONS: A little on the expensive side, but the quality of construction and materials probably accounts for this.

Thankyou for fast service. This HDMI cable has made a remarkable improvement in the picture quality between my Dish Network reciever and my LCD TV!

    PROS: 1 piece 30ft. cable

    Flawless @ 30ft!
The 30ft RedMere active cable works flawlessly, I recommend this product!

PROS: I have this 30ft RedMere active cable connected from my PC - Receiver (and the receiver has a normal HDMI - TV), and everything works perfectly. Image and sound are both unchanged!

CONS: No cons but I wanted this cord at 20ft, or 25, I didn't need 30ft.

Nice cable - just not as thin as you might hope
BE AWARE that this 30ft cable (and longer ones, I believe) are using 28AWG conductors which make them much thicker (almost 0.3" diameter) than the shorter, thinner RedMere cables that are about half this jacket diameter (the thinner cables are great!)

If you're buying for thinness only, basic 26AWG CL2 jacket cables are just a bit thicker (0.33" for PID 2841)

That said, these cables still handle extremely well - flexible with nice overmolds that have asymmetric colors so you can see which way the connector is oriented from a distance.

    30ft Slim Series CL2 High Speed HDMI® Cable w/ RedMere® Technology
I bought this cable because the ad said slim series w/redmere tech. I have a good many of monoprice slim redmere cables and they are tiny compared to the one they set me this time. While I will most likely keep it , it is not what I wanted or thought I was ordering and paying for.

CONS: Nothing slim about this cable,

    Stopped working
First cable I got was a dud. Mono price sent a replacement. Worked fine for awhile. Now it doesn't. Suddenly stopped sending any signal. Meanwhile, a cheap shorter cable works but I need to have the longer cable to fish thru the wall.

PROS: Easier to fish through walls than thick cables, and priced right.

CONS: First cable I got was a dud. Mono price sent a replacement. Worked fine for awhile. Now it doesn't. Meanwhile, a cheap shorter cable works but I need to have the longer cable to fish thru the wall.

Cable thickness is not displayed correctly
The picture shows the cable to be quite thin. The product is more like all of the other Select series cables. If you want something that looks like the picture, you need to order the ultra thin series.

    Poor cable ends
My review is probably not the norm but I just wanted to get my issue out there in case someone else has the same issue. I could not test the cable seeing it broke before I got everything connected. Hence the reason for the one star because I could not even try it. My issue was when I connected the cord to my projector to check how the projector would fit on the ceiling the metal end bent and came out of the plastic on the main plug end. I assure you I was not pulling on the cable hard to cause it to do this. I was working with an expensive projector so I was very careful. So looking at the broken cable I notice that the metal end only goes into the cord about 1 cm. With it being built this way any slight pull or bump of the cable can cause it to pull out of the plastic end. I find it hard to believe no one else has run into this issue seeing how easily it happened to me. Maybe I got a bad cord but I don't think so. MONO PROCE IS SENDING ME OUT A REPLACEMENT which is fair, but now the cable I ran through my ceiling and wall is junk and I will have to find a way to run my cable to my projector. I have no problem with Mono Price, I buy a lot of my electronic needs from them, but I just feel this cable is poorly made and wanted to get that issue out there for perspective buyers to consider. They do offer another 30ft redmere HDMI cable that I would recommend over this one which appears to be more durable.

    PROS: Smaller and flexible.

CONS: The ends of the cable are poorly made and break easily.
