1m 30AWG Internal Mini SAS 36pin (SFF-8087) Male w/ Latch to SATA 7pin Female (x4) Forward Breakout Cable - Black
Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) is a high-speed data storage interface designed for high-throughput and fast data access. Intended primarily for data storage centers, the SAS interface is backwards compatible with SATA. This allows the user to mix more expensive, lower-capacity SAS drives for applications that require faster data access and higher reliability, with lower-cost, higher-capacity SATA drives for applications with lower access speed requirements. Monoprice carries a full line of quality SAS cables with connectors for every possible application, both internal and external.
This 1 meter long cable uses 30 AWG wires and is intended for internal use. It has a single 36-pin SFF-8087 male Mini-SAS plug (with locking latch) on one end and has four 7-pin SATA female plugs (with locking latches) on the other, allowing you to connect four SATA drives to an SAS controller. This is a Forward Breakout cable, meaning that it is intended to connect to a host/controller on the SAS end and to drives on the SATA end.

PROS: excellent product, you can cut the protective mesh to get more slack on the individual connectors. Excellent value compared to other brands at $30
far better than buying overpriced cabling elsewhere.
PROS: Inexpensive, plenty of length for very large cases, metal clips on both the SATA connector as well as the SAS connector.
CONS: Longer than you might expect. I had to coil it up behind my motherboard plate.
The SATA wire that leaves the conduit and goes to the SATA connector is actually two small ribbons. I could see where these might be more fragile than a traditional SATA cable.
Shipping costs are starting to get a bit too high on some of MonoPrice's stuff.
PROS: Price is the biggest pro. Quality is very good (not great but hence the price) Will buy more when needed
CONS: None really
Quality product with a good price tag.
PROS: good quality
does everything as expected
PROS: I have bought three. All Channels work. These cables are delicate, but you are also not paying mush $$.
I will buy more. You should as well.
PROS: Works as advertised, good length, good sleeving
CONS: Doesn't have the sgpio (sideband) connector - the right angle sff-8087 cable on here has sgpio, why not this one :(
Here's hoping someone at monoprice is reading this!
