My brother showed me what a sucker I was.
A while ago, I bought a new laptop with a Blu Ray player. Later on, my parents bought a new HDTV, so then decided to get a HDMI cable to make the most out of the Blu Ray feature.

I stupidly went to Best Buy and browsed around. There were cables locked behind plexiglass displays with gold plating costing hundreds of dollars. Thankfully a helpful employee stopped me from making a stupid decision to get those, explaining that there's no proven increase in quality by these snake oil products. I eventually settled on the cheapest cable there which was 5ft cable from Best Buy's store brand: Dynex. It still took over 32 dollars plus tax away from my purse.

When I got to my parent's house, I discovered that 5ft was a very cumbersome span to operate a TV with a laptop. I was reluctant to go back to get a longer one due to the unreasonable price increases.

So that's when my little brother stepped in and discovered my dilemma. He explained to me that I was ripped off and that a few websites sell cables for WAY less than retail value. At first I was skeptical thinking that it would be a difficult task where I had to make multiple searches and that the cables would be of questionable quality. That was when he reiterated the Best Buy employee, by stating from his experience there is no difference in quality, and handed me my laptop with monoprice.com on the front page.

I ended up buying one 15ft cable and two 10ft cables for UNDER TWENTY DOLLARS including the shipping and handling! Three cables for far less than the one I bought earlier. Later the package even came early. All the cables not only work, but work as well as the 100 dollar Monster brand cable my Aunt got suckered into buying. The 5ft Dynex cable ended up back at Best Buy, who is staying out of the black by cheating people who don't know enough about technology. Thanks to my brother for introducing me to this site, I now recommend it to all my family, friends, and even enemies.

Now I can use said laptop with said HDTV comfortably.

PROS: It works and that's all that matters!

    CONS: None

    Hi-speed HDMI perfection
Bought 3 of these for PS3, HD Dish Network, and laptop connectivity to my 1080p Sony TV. Work perfect, look great. As always MonoPrice has the best cables at bottom prices. In my opinion, better quality than MonsterCable at 4% the price.

PROS: Long cable, great quality, works perfect, future proof

    Great Product
The cables are great. The only surprise was the postal worker standing at my door demanding additional payment for postage since the company shipped in the wrong package. So, after an additional 4 dollars of postage due, I could watch TV! This was a first time goof up on shipping for me so I wrote it off to a new guy in the warehouse...but it does change the cost consideration.

    Excellent product!
Monoprice is your best bet for HDMI cables. Rather than spending $50 on a 10' HDMI cable at BestBuy, I spent $5 here for a top notch product. I would definitely recommend.

    PROS: Cost

    CONS: None

    Wish I had known sooner
Im like any person out there - spent about 2k on a new HDTV, got the HD cable box and want the highest quality picture possible when I sit down to enjoy my TV.

So of course, I need cables - and from the reading I had done and the questions I asked my friends, HDMI connections were the way I decided to go.

Looked at the store - and oh my god were they expensive - Ive never been a high end, i.e. Monster Cable guy - usually I was happy with the middle of the road cable. For the length I needed - Monster was going to cost me about $120.00 for just one of the connections I needed. Too high. So in Sams Club, I found a good price on some Belkin AV cables great name figured Id get some decent quality.

Ended up spending about $20 - $30 for them (had to buy two (cable box to receiver - receiver to TV). I noticed they didnt sit in the port very snugly but being new to HDMI, I thought that was normal.

Well I started having trouble with the connection from the cable box to the receiver, video would hang, sometimes the audio would get garbled. Ended up replacing it with a more expensive brand - that fixed the problem.

Then a few weeks ago my wife was dusting behind the TV and both audio and video went out tried the cable in a different HDMI input on the TV and it worked, but the cable had to be placed just so in the port.

Sigh. Not happy at all because I wasnt able to use the port that I wanted anymore.

I had a hunch it was the cable and wanted to replace it thought about going with the more expensive brand again - but cmon, the economy sucks right now.

A friend of mine turned me on to Monoprice.com said he had good luck with them in the past with some other cables. I looked into them and thought the prices were too good to be true - there had to be a catch or the cables they sell had to be complete crap, right?

I did a lot of research online about what people had to say about the expensive cables vs the inexpensive cables my research was inconclusive.

Decided to give it a try - if the cable I got didnt work - Id either return it or at the very worst, Id be out $6 and a few dollars for shipping.

The cable arrived two days earlier than I had expected it.
I plugged it in and it seated very nicely - much better than the one I was replacing.

And it works fantastic. I honestly believe the quality of the video is slightly better with the Monoprice cable I purchased.

Im floored. Ill tell everyone I know about Monoprice.com and ANY time I need another cable this will be the first place I visit.

Thank you very much Monoprice ... your quality and service are not only fantastic, but much appreciated!

    Good cable and price
The cable works well and is good. I like that it has the cores which help with interference though it increases the bulk of the cable. I also like that there are color choices.
