75ft High-quality Coaxial Audio/Video RCA CL2 Rated Cable - RG6/U 75ohm (for S/PDIF, Digital Coax, Subwoofer & Composite Video)
This Digital Coax Cable is made from premium quality RG-6/U with double copper braid shielding to prevent signal degradation caused by EMI and RFI interference. This cable is ideal for conducting S/PDIF digital audio signals and other high-bandwidth content, but it can also be used for composite video and other line level RCA signals.
The CL2 rating on this cable indicates that the jacket has been treated so that it complies with fire safety regulations, making it safe for use through or within the walls of residential class buildings.
- Gold plated RCA male connectors
- Rubber-covered, molded connector housings
- 97% pure oxygen-free copper conductor
- Double shielded with copper braiding
- 22 pF per foot capacitance
- 75 ohm impedance
PROS: Great quality connections, heavy duty wire, unstoppable price!
PROS: The cable was perfect for my application. The cable was flexible and easy to string. I would recommend this cable for long runs.
PROS: Great price
CONS: Not enough shielding to prevent constant humming in speakers. Do not use in walls or attic.
PROS: well made at a reasonable price (like everything else I've ever ordered from monoprice).
PROS: very good value and quality
PROS: Great quality at great price, highly recommended!
CONS: None so far
A week later, I waited until afternoon to run the same cable through the attic. This was after the TEXAS sun had cooled down. Connected the S/PDIF cable to a 5971 Component/S/PDIF converter. Then converted to HDMI with a Mono 1X8 HDMI splitter. The signal split to 4 other HDTV's in the house. This was a long run with alot of converting and everything worked perfect.
The next day the temperature heated up to 95++ degrees outside. The attic heated up. The S/PDIF cable quit working from 11am until 6pm. The sound came back on after the attic cooled back down. The component cables had kept the picture on but no sound.
I would give the cable a 10 except it did not work in a hot attic environment. Seems to work fine in 85 degree or cooler weather.
Bottom line. Every piece of Mono equipment worked perfect as advertised. Just need to avoid heated condtions.
