24inch 4pin MOLEX Male to (4) 15pin SATA II Female Power Cable (Net Jacket)

The Serial ATA standard provides for the adoption of a new 15-pin drive power connector, replacing the ubiquitous 4-pin Molex connector. However, existing system cases and power supplies may have an insufficient number of SATA power connectors, while still retaining the older Molex connectors.

This 24" adapter cable plugs into a 4-pin Molex power plug and provides four 15-pin SATA power connectors. Each SATA power connector is spaced about 6 inches apart, allowing four drives to be easily daisy chained to the single power line. The power wires are contained within a net jacket to keep them neat and tidy within the system case.

Warning! The Molex connector provides only 5 and 12 VDC power. While many SATA drives only require these power levels, some require the additional 3.3 VDC power provided for in the SATA specification. Make sure your drive does not require 3.3 VDC before purchasing this adapter cable.

I needed to run power to several drives in a server and this was the cheapest solution about half the price of buying plain sata connectors. (without the wire/headshrink/molex) The connectors are great quality they have a snug fit, the push-in crimp connectors touch each wire at four points, and the pins and slot for the 3.3V wire are included. The top covers can be easily popped off with a small screwdriver, allowing them to be taken off and new wire simply pushed in. The end connector has a different cover than can be trimmed to allow wires to pass through.

Not a con, but the wire is 20AWG, slightly less than the standard 18AWG.

PROS: Good quality and cheap enough to salvage the connectors

    PROS: Gets the job done.

CONS: Moltex connector, Would have been happier with sata power connector.

I do mild modding of my system and could never find a close coupled harness that worked. There was always too much distance between the connectors. I tried the cables available locally but the retaining clips that hold the wire shield on would snap when I tried to remove them. When I saw these ones on the site I thought I would give them a try. They are a modders dream, end caps remove easily and the connector bites into the wire in 4 spots instead of 2 like the others. The price can't be beat for what I got. Their on my favorites list for sure.

PROS: The connectors come apart quite easily which allows easy construction of custom length cables.

    CONS: None

I needed one since I had enough HDs to use up all of my SATA power connectors and not have one to reach my optical (DVD-RW) drive in my Antec P280 case. I had 2 molex connectors free though, with only 1 going to a case fan controller, which I used to split this connector off to. It powered up my CD drive and now I'm able to install bundled software and drivers.

Only problem I had is that I had to wiggle the wires and use a bit of force to fit the molex connector to one of mine.

Thought I could live maybe without a DVD Drive (and floppy drive), but the DVD drive is too useful. This connector pretty much saved me from disconnecting a bunch of hard drives, for me to enable the use of my DVD drive.

PROS: Good length for Antec P280

CONS: Molex can by finnicky to connect

Perfect cable for stacking drives in UnRAID server
I needed to add drives to my UnRAID server but was out of power connections. These cables were exactly what I needed- at a reasonable price. I would've preferred 5/6 connections per cable, but in retrospect, utilizing multiple remaining Molex power connections, was probably the better solution for power handling.

PROS: Inexpensive. Well-made. Fast Delivery. Exactly what I expected.

    CONS: None, really.

    Exactly what I needed.
I bought this for a pc that had a mix of molex and SATA power. I ran out of SATA adapters. My DVD player didn't work. I bought this to expand the power in the computer. Worked perfect out of the box. Its exactly what I needed. Great price. Fast reasonable shipping. I'm a return customer as always.

PROS: Great length. Sleeved. Expansion for four. I might actually buy another one of these for my other PC.

CONS: It wasn't free? None that I could find.

    It works quite well!
The sleeving is silly- no need for it but that is not a true reason to lower the rating.

My power supply simply lacked the number of sata power I needed for all my drives, however it had a molex...So I just looked up the wattage spec and went with this...

Plugged it in, and it worked without any messing around.

PROS: Allows one to split one molex power between multiple sata drives
