I purchased 40, mine were not gold plated. looks like tin although I cannot confirm that. They do fit very snugly and are the cheapest I have found that are decent quality. Great to fix communication errors on the cheap. Buy better cables if it's mission critical. I actually run these on 2 of my small servers replacing cables I paid a lot more for locally.

They appear to be. But it don't say if they are or not, so I'm not 100%sure. I'm using about 8 of them and have had no issues so far. They are nice and beefy. They are shielded with 26 AWG wire. I highly recommend them.

There is no exposed metal in these connectors like for a video cable, say. There are just plastic hoods on either end. So I really cannot say how the connections inside the hood were made.

great cables great price
Every one clicked into their connectors snugly and replacement with them eliminated communication errors some other sata cables produced. Be aware the tabs for the click-lock may be close together on some motherboard sata ports. For the price unbeatable will buy more.
