10ft Premium 3.5mm Stereo Male to 2RCA Male 22AWG Cable (Gold Plated) - Black
While most mobile devices use the 3.5mm stereo headphone output, most home audio systems with an amplifier or receiver use RCA jacks for audio inputs. This cable is ideal for connecting the output of your mp3 player or phone to your home audio system.
The cable is made of heavy-duty coaxial cable for each conductor. The conductors are 22AWG and each conductor is shield to prevent EMI or RFI interference from entering your audio system. The cable is 12mm x 6mm thick, while the connector housings are about 41mm long x 15mm diameter.
Because of their size and weight these cables are best suited for more permanent connections, such as from your PC to your sound system. If you want something more suitable for portable applications, please try one of our standard 3.5mm to RCA audio cables.
I would like to note that the 3.5mm plugs are very large in diameter. So large that it's not possible to plug 2 of them next to each other in the back of a PC sound card without filing some of the thumb grip down so it's flat. I used a table grinder to file the thumb grip ridges flat, taking my time so as to not file too much off. After both 3.5mm plugs were filed flat, I could then stick them together on the back of my sound card, side by side.
PROS: They look and feel like decent quality cables. Thick and meaty. That's about it.
CONS: RCA connectors are insanely tight to the point of possible damage to electronics. Connection boards are a printed PCB like anything else. They are not that strong. There is no excuse for this, as the cheapest RCA cables I own don't have this issue. Also, the tines on the RCA connectors are cheap pot metal with zero flex that snaps off with very little force. You literally cannot spread the tines for a proper fit without breaking them. Effectively useless as they can damage your electronics and there is no way to remedy that without destroying the connectors. Why is this the best cable that Monoprice offers? You'd think their "premium" cables would be made of better materials than cheap, Chinese potmetal.
Also, this is directly advertised and described as ideal for connecting your PC to your receiver. This is completely impossible as the casing of the 3.5mm TRS connectors is way too fat to have these plugged in next to eachother. They are absolutely useless for PC audio without some sort of extension or splitter, which completely eliminates the point of buying thick, shielded cables.
Truly sorry to hear PID 5599 didn't work out for your needs. If you would like I can set up an RMA for a replacement to see if that will work better for you, or for a return should you no longer have a need for the cable. We do offer a 30 day return policy as well as a one year warranty on this item. Obtaining a replacement will be of no additional cost to you. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Thank you for your patience and understanding in the matter.
PROS: Amazing build quality and sound!
Has good interference shielding.
CONS: Can't think of any except that the 8th inch connector is a little bulky.
PROS: These things are massive, the cable gauge is about as big as anyone would ever need. Gold plated connectors and tight tolerances give the connectors a secure fit with minimal wiggle.
CONS: The 3.5mm jack is massive. Not something I needed to worry about, but something to take into consideration. Running two of these next to each other, i.e. - a microphone and adjacent headphone port in the back of a PC, would be impossible.
PROS: Great response. Good customer service.
PROS: very very very stout. no chance of breaking under normal use
