6ft Premium 3.5mm Stereo Male to 3.5mm Stereo Female 22AWG Extension Cable (Gold Plated) - Black
The 3.5mm (1/8") stereo TRS connector is more commonly known as the Headphone Jack on portable mp3 players and mobile phones. This cable features a male 3.5mm stereo (TRS) plug on one end and a female 3.5mm stereo jack on the other end, each with molded connector housings and strain relief boots. Each connector is gold-plated to ensure smooth, corrosion-free connections.
The cable is made of heavy-duty coaxial cable for each conductor. The conductors are 22AWG and each conductor is shield to prevent EMI or RFI interference from entering your audio system. The cable is 12mm x 6mm thick, while the connector housings are 41mm long x 15mm diameter.
Because of their size and weight these cables are best suited for more permanent connections, such as from your PC to your sound system. If you want something more suitable for portable applications, please try one of our standard 3.5mm audio cables.
I bought two of these, one was worse than the other and they sent me another one, but all three have the same problem more or less.
I hope this is not an indication that Monoprice has started going the route of typical corporations, maximizing profit by sacrificing quality. I will have to buy a headphone extension cable from some other brand.
PROS: Cable (not connectors) seems very high quality.
CONS: Very poor quality female connector
I have to agree with most of the "complaints." I have thicker gauge drumming headphones that use much less sheath material than these. I don't know why they chose to go with the dual-tube design for just 22 AWG. I'd venture a guess that it's just production over-run. The price benefits everyone.
If you're listening Monoprice, after this batch, get in touch with your supplier and do the same gauge (or maybe even thicker) in thinner, single-tube sheathing.
PROS: Wire gauge.
Sound quality (for the price).
CONS: I have to agree with most of the "complaints." I have thicker gauge drumming headphones that use much less sheath material than these. I don't know why they chose to go with the dual-tube design
CONS: Sound Quality
Thank you for your review on PID 5587! Truly sorry to hear about the sound quality with this 3.5mm cable. If I may ask, what devices is this being used with? Can you explain to me how the quality was bad exactly? Such as was there static/noise, audio output through only one channel, etc.? Can we test the cable with other devices to see if the same audio issues occur?
If you would like, I can help setup an RMA for a replacement or a return if unsatisfied with the cable. We offer a lifetime warranty for our cables and a 30 day return policy with no restocking fee. I also wanted to mention that we cover shipping costs if the item is found as defective so these options would be of no additional cost to you. If you wish to proceed, please let me know if you would prefer to obtain a replacement or return the cable. My apologies for the trouble and I hope this helps!

Highly recommended for everything except maybe earbuds, since this cable will weigh significantly more than the headphones will.
And FYI: The cable is actually just two RG56/U 75ohm coaxial cables similar to a television cable. And for anyone who doesn't know, that does not mean the cable has 75 ohms of resistance, that is the RF impedance and is completely negligible for audio frequencies.
The female connectors don't always make a good connection, so audio cuts out.
PROS: Solid construction.
CONS: Female end makes a loose connection.
Thank you for your review. And I am truly sorry to hear of your experience you have had with this product. For now, if you prefer, I can assist you in setting you up for a replacement on the item if you haven't done so already. We do have a lifetime warranty on cables as well as a 1 year warranty for everything else. It will be of no additional cost to obtain a replacement, so please let me know if you want to continue. I would just require your order# to set it up. Thank you!
PROS: The cable was shipped promptly and arrive in the mail when told.
CONS: The cable was a lot thicker than it looked on the website, but that's okay.
PROS: great product
