    Is this shielded?
    Nathaniel F on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: did not care...it is a short piece of cable. I confirmed the long runs were shielded. this short item in the system still allowed the shield of the longer cables to drain to chassis ground via its ground / signal common. keep in mind, its all about the cable being an antenna to noise. this short piece can barely be any antenna.
can this be used with and HDMI DV1 CABLE FOR AUDIO FROM TV TO BLU RAY?
    A shopper on Feb 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This cable carries audio in both directions, one end is a single plug and the other is a left/right split. Hdmi typically also carries audio, and I wouldn't think you'd need an extra cable for that with your setup.
I have a compact amplifier with only one L & R input. Will this cable work backwards? If I connect an Airport Express and a turntable with RCA cables both to the amp with two of these, so the amp will play whichever source is active, will they carry the full signal? I mean, will it sound right? The amp itself is pretty amazing in both power and clarity; each source sounds good when connected separately.

Both of the negative comments are from complete idiots. This is not a stereo seperating cable. It is a doubler!! Plug it into left output and you now have two left outputs. Or right. Or video. If are not sure what you are ordering, it would be best for you to call the toll free # to ask questions.

    Could be improved
Would like to see two new options, one with all while tips, one with all red tips. Not sure why it made sense to have one red, one black, one white unless splitting mono to stereo inputs.

    PROS: Works

CONS: Colors make no sense when splitting two stereo outputs to a receiver and a tv.

I don't know why they don't offer a premium cable for this. I would have bought a premium connection to match my other cables. Instead I'm stuck with these. Do they work? Of course, flawlessly. But they look cheap unlike the premiums.

    Great for two subwoofers
I bought these to connect two subwoofers to my home receiver, Absolutely flawless playback, Thanks again, monoprice saved me a lot of $$$$$$$ monster cable is overpriced!

Doesn't make sense (in fact it just adds confusion) to color code jacks as if they were left and right since it is used to split a single channel and both jacks will be the SAME channel. Worse yet, the plug end is a VERY loose fit! A slight pull and it unplugs. I would gladly spend more for a better quality splitter.

    PROS: None really.

CONS: Both jacks should be black. Plug is a very loose fit!

Does for spare change what others do for dollars
I ordered five of these on Friday morning for under $5 shipped and received them Monday. Exceptionally fast turn around! One major retailer wanted $3 for a similar item while another wanted $10 for a pair of cables that do essentially the same thing just arranged differently.

I used this to split the RGB and audio from my digital cable box to two TVs. It worked out perfectly! Sure it's a little dark under the TVs' default settings, but just adjust them, you can get them back to normal. Picture quality (aside from brightness)is unchanged on my SD TVs. If you're looking for a cheap, working solution to splitting the output on a device then strongly consider this!

PROS: - Works perfectly for splitting signals.
    - Solid construction (though some of your cables may fit these looser than others).

CONS: - Red and white ends are kinda pointless.
    - Be nice if these came in red, white, blue, green, and yellow colors for composite and component.

mexwave is right. The negative reviews here clearly indicate a misunderstanding of what this cable is (or perhaps more likely, were intended for another product and were accidentally posted here). This product is really, really simple -- it is a y-cable with one male RCA on one end, and two female RCAs on the other end. A single instance of this cable is not appropriate for any stereo use, since you would need two to do stereo. This cable does not have any mini jacks, either. I suspect the negative reviews may really be for another product.

    Good Enough
    Wish the Connectors were tighter

    PROS: Inexpensive

    CONS: Loose Plugs

PROS: You can find everything your looking for on monoprice. I went to Radio Shack 3 times and could not get this item. Plus RS price was $6.99 and MP was change . Can't beat that. Quality !!

    CONS: None

    Works Great
Works great. I used it to make pigtails for an audio device that had terminal block phoenix connectors.

I will definitely use it in the future.

    PROS: Cheap in Price
