Although I do have to say that the picture and refresh rate looked much better than my USB to HDMI converter.
PROS: Displays look great
CONS: Does not extend, only mirrors
PROS: Mirrors Screen
CONS: Does not extend screen
PROS: This is a splitter that mirrors a single display only. If that is what you want, it seemed to work well for the five minutes that I was like "WTF, really?!?"
CONS: The description on the website does not make it clear that this is a splitter that mirrors and repeats a single display output only.
I read the first couple reviews which complained that the device failed. Decided it was worth a shot anyways. I plugged this into my computer and my two monitors, and realized it was showing up on the computer as a single monitor, meaning both monitors were mirroring the same output. Super frustrating. Monoprice, please put this incredibly important information in the description! I'm keeping the device so I can have digital output from my DisplayPort (was formerly using DisplayPort - VGA adapter I get better resolution this way) but c'mon, this is a letdown.
PROS: Digital output.
CONS: Displays same image on both output monitors when this is not made clear in the description.
PROS: Turns on. Adapts mini-DV to HDMI.
CONS: Bought on Amazonand the product description does not clearly say (perhaps doesn't say at all?) that this device does not extend desktop across two monitorsit can only mirror. I feel gypped and will seek a refund. User comments and user questions tell more about the product's limits than the actual description.
CONS: Didn't work with pc or mac in combination with samsung TV or monitor.
PROS: I don't know pros, since i installed the power supply was burned, then I replaced that and never work properly
CONS: Burns burns and burns
PROS: None, this unit, as mentioned by others does not work.
CONS: Though I saw half the reviews were very bad, I took a shot and wasted a week's worth of monitor down time and $50. The unit never worked at all, we tried two brand new cables (which worked perfectly with other devices), and a different power supply, the light is on but it's a dead unit. Never worked at all.
Come on Monoprice, pull this product. With this many issues, at best, this needs a ground up re-work. The money isn't really the issue, the real problem is time. I now have to box this thing back up and send it for a refund, and now get to start figuring out how to fix my monitor issue so we can resume working without having to switch back and forth between screens.
Frustrating when a good company allows this kind of quality control issue, you know it's a problematic unit, pull it till it can be fixed.
CONS: It's a useless black box.
