For my projector I give it a 10. I have three sources plugged in and it works great no ghosting or picture quality loss. I tried another one on my computer monitor and there was some ghosting, but I only had one input used so that may have hurt the performance. For switching several devices to a 1024x768 DLP projector you can't beat it for the price. It is very well made too.

Update amazed at how well it is working with the projector. I also hooked up a laptop and ran at my projectors native resolution of 1024x768 and the picture was perfect I tried bypassing the switch and there was no difference same picture. I have notced that the ghosting I noticed when using it on my computer monitor gets much better when I have more than one source plugged in I bought two 4port switches. I have a Dreamcast hooked up on the second switch box and it has a perfect picture through my computer monitor and on the first switch box through the projector. I'm not sure why the one person had such poor quality through their 2port switch box, but it may have been a defective unit. Overall I am more than pleased with the results and love being able to switch devices so easily. The switch itself has a very nice weight to each of the four positions and feels very solid. Can you tell I'm happy with this switch box?

The switch box is identical to others that I bought for three times as much. I am very pleased with the cost and quality of all the monoprice products I bought.

    Long Lasting
I bought this in 2006 and have been using it for just over 7 years. It worked great until a couple months ago it started to produce interference on the screen in weird spots. It seemed to be worse when it was a detailed image. For the price and durability, I can't complain! It's not the best quality, but it's also a lot more robust than the cheap plastic boxes I've seen on other sites for 2 or 3 times the cost of this one. It's possible that the switch started causing interference because input A fell into the switch box, because when it was loose (before it fell in), I was still getting screen interference. I'm planning on replacing it with the powered version since I think I need the extra signal boost because my cable run is nearly 100ft. I was definitely satisfied with this switch box for my needs, but I was always curious whether a powered switch would improve the screen quality. I'll find out shortly!

PROS: It lasted over 7 years

Easy to switch between different inputs

CONS: Started causing interference on the screen at the end of its life

Input A caved into the box and is no longer usable (But this was probably caused by the VGA cable being shoved against the wall and it slowly bent the connection and caused it to fall into the switch box)

    4 port VGA switch
You'd pay two to three times more anywhere else for the identical product so why would you?

PROS: Excellent quality, metal housing, smooth switch action.

    CONS: None

I tried designing a switchbox with four rotary switch wafers to do the same job. The parts priced out at over 10 times what this box cost.

PROS: Switches reliably between VGA outputs of four computers with no cross-coupling and no external power supply needed.

    CONS: None

    Absolutely Fantastic
This product was a game changer for my workstation. I have 3 machines (two HDMI, one VGA), only one monitor (with a single VGA port), and no money or space for additional screens. Enter the Monoprice 4-Port VGA Monitor Switch! Now with the flip of a switch I can route my three machines (two through cheap HDMI-VGA converters) to a single VGA screen. I have not experienced issues with image quality as some seem to indicate. It just works! Now I have a great workaround while I save up for a nice HD display.

    PROS: Low price

    Quality Construction

    Great image quality

    Old-school geeky switch vibe

    CONS: None.
