Questions and Answers
I connect to the switch you are asking about from the desktop using a DVI to VGA adaptor, then VGA cables. From the laptop docking station I simply use the VGA port to connect to the switch. I then connect from the switch to both of the 23" monitors with VGA cables. Make sure you get the recommended gauge or you monitor display could be off color or flaky at times. I get 1920 x 1080 display just fine on the 23" monitors.
I can now use dual monitors with either computer and switch between them at any time. Laptop to dual monitors on the treadmill desk, or switch to desktop on the treadmill disk. Ditto for the sit down desk and I can also display desktop or laptop on monitors for both the treadmill and sit down desks. I can even split the monitors so I can watch work on one monitor and look at my personal e-mail in the other at the same time at either desk.
For you to make the above work with this switch, you are going to need to be able to convert HMDI output from the one laptop to VGA. Unknown if Monprice has a converter that will work. If you find one, verify it maintains the resolution. Some are very low resolution and that could be an issue.
PROS: This is a great product for the price, it works well, and does a great job, you won't find another product like it. it will push a signal 150feet easy and the nice thing is that you can switch between two inputs.
CONS: poor quality control. Startach makes the very same model, only branded different. this is the third one we've had in less than two years, the thing will just all the sudden quit sending a video signal. do yourself a favor and save the box and receipt because the chances are it won't even make it past the one year warranty. Plus at the price you get it for, it may be wise to buy two, so when one kicks the bucket you have a backup when you send the other back. It's great as long as it works.
PROS: Excellent product worked right out of the box continuos to perform flawlessly

PROS: Great option to allow dual access to a projector in a classroom situation. All wires enter in the rear out of sight.
CONS: Would be nice if audio could be integrated as well.
PROS: works great - unit looks and feels durable

PROS: Great Price
easy to use
Unlike cheaper unpowered VGA switches (avoid those!), there were absolutely no problems with image blurring and ghosting. The picture looks crisp and noise-free. Both of the monitors can be turned on/off using the buttons on the switch. The only difficulty was choosing a resolution that will work best for both of them, since the computer can only recognize one of them no matter which one of them is on or off.
The build quality of the switch is fine. The case is made of metal, not cheap plastic and feels very sturdy.
