    Chromatic Pedal Tuner

Easily tune your guitar or bass on stage with this Chromatic Pedal Tuner from Monoprice!

This tuner is designed to fit into your pedal rack and features a heavy-duty metal construction and activation button. It has two 1/4" TS outputs, Normal and Bypass. The Normal output is muted whenever the tuner is activated and the Bypass output ignores the tuner completely and outputs whatever comes in over the 1/4" TS Input jack.

It has a tuning range from A0 (27.5Hz) to C8 (4186Hz) and is accurate to within ± 1 cent. It can be calibrated to between 436 ~ 445Hz in 1Hz increments and supports the application of 1, 2, or 3 flats to the tuning. The pedal is powered with either a 9V alkaline or heavy-duty battery or with a 9VDC power adapter. Batteries and power adapters sold separately.

So can you not tune in 432hz with this?
    A shopper on Dec 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Why would you want to tune to 432hz? That is just conspiracy theorist propaganda . Don't fall into that trap. Just tune to 440 and detune a 1/2 step lower if you want the sound of less tight strings. There is no "432hz standard."

I needed a tuner that had BIG letters and the ability to tune in flat mode. What do I mean by flat mode? Well, the band tunes down a half step so our E is actually Eb but we don't call it Eb, we call it E. All you do is click the Flat button and you can drop into flat mode or even go two steps further. In flat mode you tune to E and you see E on the screen but your note is actually Eb. Get it? Simple! The tuner appears to be True Bypass. I used Monoprice's Next Day service and got it in one day!

PROS: Metal case. Simple to use. BIG letters. Bypass mode as well as Mute mode. Battery included.

    Fast, clear and accurate tuner
I bought two of these because of the reviews online, as my Boss TU-2 was less than stellar. They work about as fast as my Snark headstock Tuners, which is to say, excellent. The display is bright and very easy to read. It comes with a 9V battery. It uses a standard Boss style 9V plug. I run mine off a One Spot. The housing is plastic, but I don't think I'll break it. If I do, I could just buy 3 more for the price of a Boss tuner. I can't see buying any other tuner as long as they still sell this.

    PROS: Bright
    Standard 9V plug
    Includes battery
On par with speed and accuracy of Snark
    Faster than a Boss TU-2

    CONS: Plastic
I had to peel off the rubber feet to attach Velcro for my pedal board, but that's pretty standard for most pedals.

Well constructed and functional for the price
This tuner is well constructed for the price, I have seen tuners that size and with the same functionalities sold for well over $50. Yet there is nothing wrong with this one. I plugged it and everything works, by pass, accuracy, and have been playing with it on-stage for two weeks.

    PROS: Decent accuracy

    Well constructed considering the price

Functionalities in this device sell sometimes for well over $40

CONS: I can't see anything negative about this tuner for the price paid.

Didn't even last a year, even after hardly using it.
I bought one of these almost a year ago on January 5, 2015. I was really happy with it while it worked. I hardly used it and about twp months ago it just started flashing a single LED light on the front panel and that's all it still does. I have changed batteries and had it hooked to a plug in power supply and no change.

PROS: Nice bright display and built really well.

CONS: Quit working after about 10 months without hardly any use.

Great tuner (as far as I can tell)
Really like this piece of gear. Not a guitar player by trade but every once in a while it is necessary to play one at a show and the utility and need for an on stage tuner became quickly apparent, luckily, as with most things these days, monoprice had me covered, and for way cheaper than anywhere else.

I checked it against my KORG tuner using the true bypass, and they seemed to come up with more or less the same results, so it seems accurate for my purpose. And even without the battery in, I found that it could be a great mute button for my guitar using the regular output.

Just make sure you're using a TS cable to activate it, not a TRS, I even tried hotpluging the TRS, but it wouldn't stay on consistently..

    PROS: Small

CONS: No power adapter included..but that's probably good to keep the price down

    Chromatic Tuner
The only thing preventing me from giving this a 10 is that it is in fact not as precise as other expensive tuners. I use this to tune my bass and I've noticed that my band mates' $100 Boss/Korg chromatic tuners do display more slight variations and deviance from a perfect tune for more precision when tuning.

That being said, I have been using this thing at practice and gigs for almost a year now and it gets the job done. For $20 I am in tune, the construction is sturdy and the tuner is very close to as accurate as far more expensive ones. I'm really not sure how much there is to gain by buying a more expensive chromatic tuner pedal.

    PROS: Sturdy

CONS: Not AS accurate as expensive tuners
