    12 Outlet Power Surge Protector w/ 2 Built-In USB Charger Ports - 4230 Joules

Protect your electronic equipment from damaging voltage and current spikes with this Monoprice surge protector!

This model includes twelve protected power outlets, 4 of which are positioned for AC power adapters, and a 2-port 2.1A USB charger. The clear plastic tabs on the sides of the unit illuminate green to indicate when the surge protector is providing protection to your equipment and when a proper ground is detected.

When the protection circuitry has been fully consumed by power and current spikes, the protection light will no longer illuminate, indicating that the surge protector should be replaced. When the grounded tab is not illuminated it indicates that there is a problem with the house wiring and that the ground is not properly connected to the power outlet.

The surge protector has 4 keyholes on the back, allowing it to be secured to a wall or other surface.

    An amazing power strip
Honestly, this is a fantastic power strip.

First, the price is truly right. Nothing else with this level of protection is this cheap.

The outlets spaced for bulky AC adapters are truly a godsend. What would normally occupy multiple precious power slots now only occupies one. Brilliant idea MonoPrice!

The USB charging is a neat little feature that saves me an outlet. The max capacity is 2.0A @ 5V, so if you plug in an iPad and a smartphone (which combined draw a theoretical 3.1A @ 5V) it clearly splits up the 2.0A of power between the twoI assume right down the middle. But it can charge both my phone and my iPad very quickly together, and as fast as the OEM iPad wall adapter if it's plugged in alone.

Then there's the peace of mind that comes with a high protection rating like this. I have a lot of valuable gear plugged in, and I want to know it's going to be safe.

All in all, a perfect product for college students, home (and regular) offices, apartments, and budget home theaters alike!

PROS: Plug guards, 4x. outlets spaced for bulky AC adapters. 2x USB ports. High surge protection rating.

CONS: LED power lights are a bit bright, but nothing a little opaque vinyl can't fix!

Also, no coax/phone/LAN protection inputs. Not a dealbreaker, especially because monoprice offers a powerstrip with those features.

    Bright Green Lights
These are very distracting. I cannot use this unit in the bedroom or in the livingroom as the lights are really bright and extend along the entire side of the unit.

Does anyone here know how these lights can be turned off or at least turned down? I do understand their purpose, but I don't need the protected/grounded status to be broadcast as a beacon throughout the room. Thanks!

PROS: Spacing and layout of outlets. Two 2.1 amp USB ports. Not larger than it needs to be.

CONS: Bright, very bright green lights that I cannot seem to figure out how to turn off.

Replaced multiple strips with this single unit. Very high-quality, beautiful presentation.

CONS: Farily bright green light that is constantly on.

    Wonderful Power Strip
I use this power strip for my Karaoke DJ gigs. Everyone comments on the beautiful green indicator strip LEDs.
This is another great product from Monoprice.com .

PROS: The 110v outlets are sturdy and placed far enough apart to hookup all my equipment, even the ones with transformers.,
A very high level of protection is needed to protect the thousands of dollars in equipment I use.

CONS: I love the Green indicator LED lights, but I can see how they might be a bit much for the bedroom.

    This is a beast
This has worked for me as a DJ for years now, never gives out or gives problems. Handles everything i throw at it. It just won't quit.

PROS: USB too? Thanks. I'll take two

    CONS: absolutely NONE

Great surge protector, but the power light is too bright
The outlets are spaced-out nicely, having the 2 USB in there as well is great. Even the sliding covers for the ones you're not using are cool. My only gripe is how bright the power light is. I have this under my bed, and it lights up part of the room at night with a green glow. Nothing some electrical tape can't cover up, but that's kind of ghetto...and I would think the design cost could be cut a bit by just using a regular tiny LED.

PROS: Spacing of outlets, slide-over covers, USB charging ports

CONS: Power light is way too bright. This is a problem with some other MP surge protectors as well. Just a design concern though - functionally they're great.

    almost perfect
This surge protector works great. The only thing I would change and request for improvement is a flush-mount plug.

PROS: Love the indicator light and space around the plugs

    CONS: Needs a flush-mount plug.

Nice unit - no go with RPI2 unfortunately
I was replacing a 12 port belkin with the swivel ports which has a smaller foot print but the plugs seems to break too easy and no usb. This unit does the job well. The light indicators for power and protection are cool looking. Has a low profile, and a long enough plug. I put it in a closest in the middle of the house which is our "media closet". Filled it up right away including 2 fios boxes, Intel Nuc, URC remote control equipment, 6x6 HDMI switch, 24 port Ethernet switch, and other misc devices. All works smoothly.

The usbs were an added bonus one of which went to a chromcast. The other I was hoping to power a Raspberry Pi 2 because of the 2.1 amp rating but amp is just half the equation. Voltage is the other half and the Pi is very picky if it is not getting a steady 5V current. Without a proper current you can end up with stability issues with the software and can even damage the power regulator of the Pi's. With the Pi 2 (and the Pi 1's with updated firmware I believe) it will actually let the user know if it is getting under voltage and under current by showing graphic icons in the upper right corner of the video. This does happen with this power strip unfortunately. Every once in a while is ok but it was happening pretty regularly running Kodi. I was half expecting this but figured it was worth a shot. I will have to stick with the $15 USB power supply I bot off amazon specifically for the Pi.

But still, happy with the purchase and would recommend.

PROS: Lots of outlets. Well spaced. Safety plugs. Built in high amp USB ports.

CONS: Large foot print. Mounting holds underneath are far apart - be nice is there were a few more in between but a minor grip. Not enough voltage for a Raspberry Pi via USB

Fantastic and well made with two slight annoyances
overall, i love these surge protectors. I've bought about 10 over the years, and i'm about to buy a couple more. My only complaints are the usb ports (slow to charge the heftier tablets and phones) and the green light is a tad bright.

PROS: I love this, fits all my devices with room to spare Comes with two usb ports for charging as well

CONS: Well the usb ports are rated at 2.1amps, they are still slow to charge my devices (nexus 6, asus t100, tab s 8.4). I wish they charged a bit faster. second is the green light. In an office setting, it's no big deal. however, in my rooms where they're next to the tv, the green light is a bit bright. I wish it was a little more conspicuous.
