Lightweight Portable Metal Mesh Laptop Cooling Stand w/ Built-In 160mm Fan - Black
Keep your laptop cool with this Metal Mesh Laptop Cooling Stand from Monoprice!
This stand has a metal mesh surface, which combines with the large 160 mm cooling fan to help dissipate damaging heat away from your laptop or notebook computer. The mounting surface measures 12 9/16" wide by 11" deep.
A built-in 4-port USB hub is positioned on the back of the stand. The fan and hub are powered by USB power via the 23" USB A male to mini-B male cable that is included with the stand. A switch on the hub turns the fan on or off and a blue LED indicates when USB power is applied.

PROS: Quite and decent air flow.
PROS: Fan is perfect size and pushes perfect amount of air. It's extremely quiet I can hardly hear it at all. Great price, usb hub functions perfectly, and the small blue LED makes for a pretty cool look when its dark. Also, it seems fairly sturdy and well constructed.
CONS: Doesn't have any grip to hold laptop from sliding off. I'm assuming this only affects some laptops as no one else has mentioned it but when actively using laptop (typing on keyboard) it tends to slide off.
After my laptop overheated simply by running for hours multiple times, messing up multiple recording sessions, I gave this a try and the next morning, the laptop's underside had gone from scalding to reasonably warm. I cannot hear the noise from the fan, nor do I detect it on microphones even when they're a few feet away. Another win for Monoprice.
PROS: - Perfect size for 13" MacBook Pro
- 4 USB ports
CONS: - Plastic would love this design in aluminum to efficiently dissipate even more heat
PROS: -Great Price
-LED looks cool
-Fan is quiet (when it works)
-4 USB ports!
CONS: -Have to slap or jolt the stand to get the fan to spin up
-Not wide enough for my 15.6" Asus N56vz
cooler as the stand has a little more clearance than what it would have on a flat surface.
The stand is tilted on a 15% or so angle so it helps with ventilation. I suspect the reason the fan
is noisy is it was originally made for 12V instead of the 5V put out by the USB connection.
This also means the fan ought to run just about forever.
The angle and thickness of the stand are perfect for a desk as your wrists keep your arm off
the desk or surface you normally work on.ll
PROS: Great ventilation. USB hub works well.
CONS: Fan is a little noisy.
Having bought Monoprice in the past, I was expecting everything to work so I chucked the boxes the first night. Only writing this review as I am looking at two new cooling pads and debating if I want to try another "cheap" cooling pad/hub. I'm loving the cables from Monoprice, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to invest in actual electronics at this time...
PROS: Cheap (thank-you Monoprice!)
Kind of quiet
Decent air flow
CONS: Cheap (both dead after less than a year)
Kind of quiet (fan is noticeable)
USB Hub (One hub worked, other hub didn't)
PROS: Sturdy, built in USB hub, great price, what more could you want from a cooling stand?
Although the instructions stated the stand adjustable, I was unable to find any bits I could move to change the angle of the stand. I'm using a couple of small tins to prop up the front of the stand, instead.
My laptop is about an inch wider than the stand, so I've been having issues with the computer staying in place its rubber feet don't properly engage the stand's surface. This definitely is not an issue with the stand, but with my particular application... just be aware you might want to acquire some extra stick-on feet to compensate, if your laptop's wide like mine is.
Overall, it's a pretty nice product for the price.
PROS: good airflow, quiet, has handy USB hub built in
CONS: unclear instructions regarding adjustability
PROS: Nice price as always from Monoprice
As much as you can expect of power for an usb powered fan.
It Workes :) a little summing from fan , im using this for my amplifier so i really dont care to much , and i will by another . amplifier got usb port and fan turns on with it wich is a great sollution and make this more then a laptop/ipad cooler
CONS: For a very picky one , the summing from fan ...
PROS: Does the job, quickly cooled my laptop.
CONS: Kinda noisy
barely fits 15" laptop
