    Great punch down tool
I am a professional network installer and I have used this tool on many jobs. I bought this item about a year ago and it has made about 1,200 individual punches at least without an issue. The handle is comfortable for long use, the spring gives enough kick when set to high, and it takes standard blades. I keep this in my tool bag and it has been well used and hauled around with 20 pounds of other tools over this last year and it still works great. I would recommend this to any professional.

PROS: Great tool at a great price.

CONS: My only issue is the blade. It works well for the first few hundred punches but the steel is not as strong as other name brand blades. I ended up buying a Fluke Networks blade and it fits perfectly.

    Gets the Job Done
I've punched down over 100 keystone jacks now with this tool. For the price, it can't be beat. There's a storage door on the back to store an extra blade I would suggest not using it, as the door comes open easily, and you could easily drop a big steel blade on whatever is beneath the tool at any time. -1 star.

The cutter half of the time just nicks the wire, unless you use a *lot* of force on the high setting. I ended up using the low setting and just punching several times to cut through. -1 star.

If I were going to use it day in, day out as a professional, I'd want something with a more comfortable handle, but otherwise, this is a great DIYer tool for the price.

    PROS: Works, punches down fine

CONS: Storage door comes open too easily, no setting between "low" and "high".

    Sturdy, easy to use
Used to punch down cat6 into a keystone jack with no problems.

PROS: Easy to use, very sturdy

    CONS: None

    Great Punch Down
I have used several name brand punch down tools, and this is as good or better than them all. This tool feels sturdy in your hand. The cutting blade is sharp, and requires minimal strikes to cut off excess wire. For the price and quality, you can't go wrong.

PROS: Great all around punch down

    CONS: None

    Monoprice punchdown tool
When comparing this tool to the other brands that I paid a whole lot more money on in the past, such as the Klein brand, this tool does just as well for the money spent. I even bought replacement blades just in case they wore out early! So far, the cutting blades have retained the original sharpness and I do alot of puchdowns per day!

PROS: When comparing this tool to the other brands that I paid a whole lot more money on in the past, such as the Klein brand, this tool does just as well for the money spent. I even bought replacement blades just in case they wore out early! Fits the hand very well, easy to use, love the storage compartment for spare blade!

CONS: Can't really think of anything and I have been using it for over a month now!

It's a nice tool at a great price. Punched down all my keystones fine. Had to punch a couple twice, and it didn't always cut the wire properly, but that's no problem for my use. I could see someone in a professional setting getting annoyed at it. The blade doesn't last forever, so if you plan on doing hundreds of punchdowns, get a spare.

PROS: Price/Quality ratio is very good.

CONS: Not much adjustment on impact force (but that didn't cause any problems for me)

Punch down works, but didn't trim excess wire
This tool worked for punching the wires into the keystone, but it didn't trim the excess wire. Not a big deal, I just went back and did it myself, but it would have been nice since it was supposed to do it. Of course, it could just be user error.

PROS: Inexpensive, works fine for punching down wire into keystone.

    CONS: Didn't trim excess wire.

    Barebones functionality
A good enough tool for beginners and hobbyists.
If you do this for a living a higher-end tool will save you a lot of time and wasted effort.

PROS: 110 blade punches down wires like it should
Has a small hook for pulling out punched down wires for rewiring
Reasonably sturdy for a $13 tool

CONS: 110 blade fails to trim excess wire when punching down
Impact is finicky at best, I ended up leaving it on low and just using hand power

Works perfectly fine, and for 13 bucks you can't go too far wrong.

PROS: Cheap, works great for light use.

CONS: Built a little cheaply, I'm not sure I can recommend it if you're doing a ton of patching. Doesn't fully cut each wire, which is not that big of a deal.

    Works ok
Works okay for my light home use. I probably wouldn't want to use it if I had a lot of connections to make.

PROS: The 66 side of the blade that came with the tool works but seems a bit tight over the 66 block terminals.

CONS: 66 side of the blade probably not quite up to specs. I haven't tried the 110/88 side of the blade.
