Compact and handy don't forget the male-to-male cable!
This is great when paired with an active USB 2.0 extender cable. However, the keystone is female-to-female, and Monoprice long-range extender cables are female to male and unidirectional (with the female end needing to be upstream), so you can't use the two together unless you bridge them using a separate male-to-male cable (I used a 5444 10ft cable as my wall fish, and then connected the female end of the extender cable to that....could have used something shorter, but the price difference was negligible).

Not a big deal, but wish I had realized that before I lost a week so now you can learn from my mistake!

PROS: Small footprint, cable can be installed in gang box without excessive crimping of the cable.

CONS: Would be nice if it could be a LITTLE bit shorter, end-to-end, to provide even more strain relief on the cable connector.

requires extender
I love the setup that I've created with these. I have and HTPC in a closet in my hallway and have all my cables run through wall. My TV seems to just be hanging on the wall everything is hidden.

PROS: This is the only in-wall USB jack setup I've found. Note it is A to A and female to female.

CONS: If you are using an active USB extender which is Male to Female you will need an A to A Male to Male connector to use these. An inwall USB system would require:
- Component (computer)
- USB 2.0 A Male to A Male 28/24AWG Cable - (Gold Plated) - 1.5ft
- Keystone Jack - USB A Female to A Female Coupler Adapter, Flush Type (White)
Now we are inside the wall supposedly running a distance...
- 33FT 10M USB 2.0 A Male to A Female Active Extension / Repeater Cable
- USB 2.0 A Male to A Male 28/24AWG Cable - (Gold Plated) - 1.5ft
- Keystone Jack - USB A Female to A Female Coupler Adapter, Flush Type (White)
- USB 2.0 Male A to Male B
- terminal component (USB Hub?)

My point being that it might be worthwhile to have A to B versions of these jacks but you'll need to plan out your system either way. Nothing seems too expensive with monoprice.

need deep boxes
I wanted to use this to relocate my pc far away from my living room and have a nice clean plate with a few USB hookups

but the connectors are very long. (they are standard usb female-female) but it won't fit in the wall box I have.(even without the box, the wall is too close) You need to connect a usb cable in the box next to this keystone ... making it at least 3 inches deep. (A standard house wall is 4 9/16 inches deep, just for the info)

I will go with a better solution USB-to-Cat5e (product 6042), this way the only keystone I need is a very short RJ45 that you can wire yourself.
not a big lost, I just bought 2.

I wished it had a small cable on the box side like hdmi wall plate : product 2730
because that one works nicely.

Very satisfied with this Keystone Module
Here is the deal... This is a Flush mount. This means it is going to be deeper than if it wasn't a flush as with most any Keystone module. The complaints in this area are just inexperienced or non-professionals who don't understand the standard. Keystone standard has been around for a LONG time before the wall-plate and in-wall-box application existed. In typical usage, equipment rack mounting plates, this is not an issue. Therefore, the issue has been created by the makers of the electrical box mounting plate systems and the maker of these USB or other "deep jacks" should not be blamed.

If it doesn't work for a particular application, that doesn't mean the jack should get fewer stars.

Anyway, I use these constantly in both normal application (rack mount plates) and in wall-box-plate applications, and I DO use deep boxes WITH Right Angle adapter cables. Planning is best for any project, but complaining is easier I suppose.

There are two main reasons I am motivated to provide this review.
1. Low ratings are unfair just because they are using it in a non-standard application.
2. The fact that the jack can be removed from the mount and rotated is critical for some applications.

Great product at extremely low price.
Thank you MonoPrice.

PROS: It works... it is a pass-through.
The actual USB socket can be removed and rotated within its Keystone mount, it is not fixed or glued.

CONS: None, with SOME dependency on application.

Not buying these anymore, need USB2
These are not acting like USB2. I get the warning that my device can run faster in a different port. And my device is not recognised by the device's software. If i take this usb keystone out of the equation, all works well. I feel like i wasted some money on about 15 of these. Other than these keystones, everything i've bought from monoprice has been great quality.

Works perfectly
I used this jack and a short cable to connect to a usb B jack on the other side of a wall. This was so I could connect a printer cable to a pc on one side of the wall and a scanner to the outlet on the other side. This scanner sits on my desk beside my Chromebox and I use Chrome Remote Desktop to remote into the pc and run the scanner. This jack works fine and has had no problems so far.

PROS: inexpensive and just works

CONS: none that I am aware of

Clean/Works
Using a few of these. Two runs are computer = short M/M USB = Keystone Jack (6651) = 25' M/M USB = Another Keystone Jack = Wired Mouse/Keyboard. A third run is computer = short M/M USB = Keystone Jack (6651) = 65' M/M USB (7533) = Another Keystone Jack = Logitech universal wireless receiver for K400 keyboard. Both runs work as if I had the devices plugged directly into the computer.

PROS: - Works
- Looks nice
- Inexpensive
